To quickly answer how to make a game start with prosthetic limbs :
Add health part -> example left arm -> -100
Then add a left robotic arm in their inventory (item menu)
Et voilà

Great flavor and fun to play with, but with the rest of my mod load-out he becomes OP quickly. Overall +1.

The initial answer was to give the player a second character with sticky hands. But I might go the dialogue route instead.

I will save you the headache, in all my testing i could'nt give them starting prosthetics even in their inventory.
My work around was to give the starting character a specific item that activates a vendor dialog that has the limbs you want for your character. I made that item worth the price of the limbs so in effect he trades that for the limbs and the dialog is once only.
That is the ancient limb vendor dialog in Bounty Quest mod if your curious. :D

Thank you a lot. I've been working on an alternate start myself. Which will now use what you've told me. Now I just need to figure out how to give people prosthetics from start.

So if your max limb health on your custom race is 150, make the starting health for all four limbs -151.

So I'm over doing it. I have my limbs with 150 Health and the starting health of -200.

Look specifically at the starting health for the character, it has to be -1 below the max limb health for that race. The limblesslander is a slightly modified greenlander so i gave him -101 to all four limbs under starting health. You will have to add it in to a character as most don't come with that field.

If you sub to this you can look at the files or even merge in the character and adjust it, if you like i could share a screen of this character's file. Also if you could share a screen perhaps of what you tried to do i might be able to spot if something is different.

I have a modding question rather than a mod specific question. How do you remove all four limbs? I tried making a character with no limbs at the start, but one limb would always be there. While crippled with an amazing negative modifier, it would be there.

There is just one unique recruitable, he won't appear again unless you import. When you recruit him he will crawl or wiggle behind you very slowly, i suggest carrying him untill you can help him out with what he needs. If you drop him when your introuble and use him as a decoy i think that would be kind of a waste lol. He is a recruit, an addition to your squad and he needs your assistance to walk and fight again. He's a tough guy so it's worth the effort to keep him. :)

Made a slight adjustment to ensure he will be there. He doesnt move very fast if at all but spawns at different point in town.

If you have any mods that alter Mongrel (city) then he may not spawn, but ussually just moves to a new location. He will shout to you when your close enough.

I could include a death item head like some have but it wouldnt remove his head it just straight kills em with no change to the model and well there isn't a robot head that you can replace it with..
