Yep, tried it with a Novakid and everything seemed good. The bug occured with the Kyteran race.

My guess is your character isnt suitable for the sword (a novakid) or maybe they are covered? The stuff is very out of date and inconsistent, will have to figure out an improvement later down the line if i get time.

I think a found a bug where I can't use it more than once.

nice! if you ever update this to have guns, i'd recommend them to be western styled to fit with the novakids. like a revolver, lever action rifles and shotguns maybe? or maybe just a regular rifle like the Sharps Rifle.

Would it be alright to look into the colour changing code to apply to something else? I have a project similar, where it also copies the player skin colour

Nope, it just reads the players skin colour, checks if the colours match, then applies it to the sword.

Wait I have one question now, when I tried to use Solara on new save file with the same moded novakid the sword worked. Does it somehow relate to that I used in the crafting an updated Solus Katana in the first place?

For whatever reason, the Solara sword wouldnt work on my novakid save file, maybe its due to mod that changes colors for novakid. But you said it works with ANY mods that change this race, how can I fix it? To explain how it doesnt work, instead of an actual sword I got only the handle of it, no blade whatsoever. I cant use it, it simply doesnt exist.

The logs are telling me this weapon is being affected by "error code 2" I looked it up and can't seem to find an answer to what this is.

can it be used by other races? I tried to use it as a human character and it just wouldn't work. I couldn't swing it, I couldn't use the special ability, my character wouldn't even change direction while holding it.

It's likely that I might have a mod that conflicts with it but I just want to be sure.

if you don't have a Novakid person to hold it, then Im pretty sure it appears Orange/yellow. This might just be the case for humans tho, idk :/
