To Reborn, Annakolia is a multiplayer world we have been building since 2002. It is based on my campaign maps and dungeons since PnP days in the 1070s when D&D first released. Although I am honored by your request, my answer is no, t remains exclusive. You are welcome to come play here - and if you wish to run a game - talk to me about your ideas.

TO Knuckles - we do like to RP but lvling with people or on your own is up to you and nobody is going to say anythijng - only rules, no evil characters without permission & no hunting players unless those you wish to hunt are agreed and in party to go hostile. There is plenty to explore but it can get difficult - i suggest staying the the low level areas until you have a few levels under your belt. Spawn system uses tables and spawns differently every time you enter the area - or at least differently based on the tables or tables set for that area. Locations are set randomly for those spawns usually but some are set to spawn in a patecular location.

Is this an up your ass sideways with a flashlight looking for people to break RP rules? or is it pretty chill? I have been looking forever for a server that is well put together, but its full of RP rule nazis Destroying my need to level a character and have fun.

Is there a story behind this place?

Evil, as defined in 1st edition could be played easily in D&D - with other evil and neutral players. Since D&D is a cooperative game, and as I have found, most who start off as an evil character and not playing cooperative with good and aligned characters but rather outright hostile or confrontational, and since my children played on this server, I choose to keep it safe. No one is forced to play here. I also will point out that Chaotic neutral if very close to evil. Anyway, it is a choice that has stood for many years. As i said, a game of evil characters works in D&D - but an evil character stuffed into an otherwise non evil group is no longer cooperative, it is just trouble.

No evil players. hmm i too been playing DND sence 70s and i have the 1st books and many of tthe rest od 1st and 2 and 3d edition. DND gives you a choice to pick playing evil caraters, thats why you have a choice to start with. and if adds flavor to it, there a diference betten playing a Evil role and just been a asshate a grifer, I was looking forwatd to playinmg here, But now i wont even look at it. sence you are aready trying to tell me what i can play or not. Why no evil player characters? Read AD&D first edition descriptions of alignment - Realms of Annakolia use this is our absolute source for defining alignment. We could build a world where everyone played evil and neutral characters and good alignments was the realm of the opposition. Realms of Annakolia is based on evil being the opposition - if a player were evil aligned, by definition from the above source, that player would be hostile to and align themselves with the forces of evil (realm of the DM) and work t destroy good and such. This creates PVP (which we do not allow except by mutual agreement of two players).

In the beginning of PWs with NWN there were players who joined servers to hunt and kill players. I had experienced this playing Diablo and Diablo2 and hated it. It might be fun for the individual who is hunting the players but it is not the D&D experience. Having played D&D since release in the 1970s, I know that the game is about cooperative adventure. A player so is a problem soon find themselves asked to leave. To this end, Realms of Annakolia is based on this concept - and does not allow such PVP - although mutually agreed upon PVP is allowed.

@Tirien66 - yes - if you see it offered, you can have it - wemics and brownies or pixies if you add wings in the body tailors after you make the brownie.

Quick question, are wemic's allowed on the server as being playable?

An note on the current download for the Character Tester - a door problem was found requiring a reposition - it appears in the ruins tileset that Beamdog has an error at makes a tilest door unworkable. This required a -10 forward adjustment 80.00 to 79.90 - anyway that door now works properly.

To install the character tester module-

!) download it -

2) unzip it - the file is a 7zip so you must install 7zip if you do not have it https://www.7-zip.org/

3) place the module in the Documents/Neverwinter Nights/module directory.

4) start NWN EE and start new - find the module name and start it - make a new character to work with.

5) once in the module you will move to the interior area and talk to the NPCs. Once there you can level up and down - there is gear to outfit and arm yourself - there are places to go and fight to test your build.

Sorry, I'm a bit lost in the sauce here. I also created a new user post in the forum if that is easier. I attempted to connect to the server, but it requested a password. I have no idea what I'm doing. I put the character module in the neverwinter nights folder as you specified, but I don't know how to launch it. I looked in the modules folder when trying to play a single player module, but no luck. I'm a bit lost, but I really appreciate your help!

To machinereplica - you can solo to your heart's content - no pressure to play with others

Place the module into the Documents/Neverwinter Nights/modules folder if you have all the other Annakolia downloads and the cep you are ready to use it.

Actually, ran into my first issue, I have no idea what to do once I have downloaded the character character build tester. Do I need to place the file into a folder within my program files? Please assist!

Long time player with no experience with online modules. I recently dabbled with the Aielund Saga and found that very enjoyable, so I wanted to try another player created module. I see this one is online, but does that mean I must play with other people? I love NWN because I DON'T have to be social I have very little experience with custom content. My step father was very computer savy and over a decade ago he downloaded the original gangster CEP and a custom character creater tool. I have no clude how any of that stuff works. I'm going to give this a shot, if anyone has any advice, I'm all ears!

This server is great I have yet to meet an unfriendly person on this server (save for npcs that are supposed to be) frequent events, active dm's custom classes are great and if you find an issue the DM team will do what they can to fix it or if you have a good idea and can flesh it out it could possibly be added to the game. This server deserves a higher population than it has.

Speaking as someone that just joined and played for an hour or so:

1. The DM's are awesome.
2. The players are awesome.
3. The concept of spell mastery is awesome.
4. If you like cool people, random adventure, and a generally good atmosphere, give it a shot!

A NWN Persistent World is like a mini MMORPG - your character is saved at the server location, not locally (although you can save a local copy for yourself). No off line mode. Annakolia is a role play world meaning our DMed games emphasize RP. There are more than 2000 areas to explore - we are adding quests that are MMORPG "like" but there are not many of those at this time. To use our world you need to use the Development mode (see first Comment)

sounds interesting, ive never played on persistent worlds, i guess thats what this is? some kind of way to play NWN as MMORPG? correct me if im wrong, how does this play actually? like offline mode? u can save the game and come back or just log out and log back later like im mmorpgs? u do quests like in mmoprgs? what are the differences between MMORPGS and online NWN? also can u use all workshop objects on steam and still play online or will that cause problems?

The server is NOT using Steam - Updating is required through Beamdog by me - If i am out for a day and an update happens, as it did yesterday, Nobody can get on from Steam because Steam updates automaticly.

The server is updated as soon as I can do so and it is up and running with the latest update. Patience for a day when an update happens please - The Beamdog updates are worth the tiny inconvience.

For beginners on Annakolia:
Any beginning character needs to have or approach the beginning dungeons with care - certain things will help. Use a ranged weapon - do not engage in melee directly. Use summons, henchmen (can get a cat or dog from the kitty Boutique or Kennels in Annakol City) - and have healing potions. Yes you need some money - go to the fishing hole and fish - sell the catch.

Development is shown besides Neverwinternights in my STEAM software list. In the module requirements, a check mark is beside CEP and all 5 packages are shown in my list of modules. I have unsubscribe and resubscribe the module today twice, yet it still doesn't appear in my list of modules, even as a ghost title. I am playing with the IMAC computer but this should not be a problem?

Must be in development setting - also - if the server has crashed, as it did Sunday, it will not show until it is reloaded.
1) make certain you are in development mode.
2) make certain the module is listed (even if ghosted) Name: Annakolia
3) Make certain you ALSO have the CEP

I have made the chande to NWN properties from opt out to program, downloaded the module yet it doesn't show in my list of other module. ? what do I need to do ?

Melonie Cardiff - you can switch between development and the other build - but to go on Annakolia right now, requires the development build. The server should be available (not greyed) if it is greyed out and you are in the development build, you need to contact tech support.

Sever found down this morning. Back up and open for players.

Same issue as @DevilripperTJ. Downloaded everything and opted into the development build.
All servers that are using modules are grayed out for me.

Fine RP server, with an immense map for exploration, very friendly and welcoming community - albeit small - and experienced DMs. I highly recommend checking it out.
