well, this is a chilling look into the state of modpacks on Starbound

This did include a lot of the utility mods for legacy NPCs and weapon generation unfortunately, along with crop mechanics but thems the breaks.

Mod pack in general should work fine now, and I'll try to readd the previously culled mods if they still work, since I was fighting with the weapons not working because of a race.

@Blackglass Sand That's because the Changeling Race and Frackin' Universe don't tend to play nice with one another, so I've removed the Changelings from the pack, since the creator has expressed that there's little chance of them being updated/remade.

That being said though, if you were previously subbed to this collection I highly recommend unsubbing the collection/whatever straggler mods you have installed and starting fresh, because a LOT of mods got culled this time around. They may be readded eventually, but for the time being restarting your character is the best solution here.

well, I removed the 4 expanded weapon gen mods but still have the problem.

after removing the entire extended weapon gen mod list combat works again, the conflict is between how frackin modifies weapon stats for each race, with the new types of weapons added by that mod. hope that helps you fix this up.

frackin universe now includes frackin races, which in turn breaks your modpack by having frackin universe at all

Also @ everyone turns out the actual bug that caused you to not be able to use weapons was Frackin' Races. Now I can't determine what mod so heavily conflicts with Frackin Races that it wouldn't allow you to use swords or weapons in general, but for the time being I've since removed it.

Until I can single out what mod causes the sword animations to stick when FR is installed, FR will be removed until further notice.

@Sir Valentine Cats Bootwaffle I unfortunately wouldn't be able to explain if there is a way to remove a RAM limit per say, but to try and ease the load on the game you can remove a lot of the arbitrary mods that don't really do much aside from add clothing, it'll ease up the loading time at LEAST.

Otherwise I wouldn't know how to dedicate RAM to Starbound in particular, though i can imagine there's a tutorial out there showing how to do so.

I am far from an experienced Starbound mod user, but I have done it a couple of times in the past, and when I do I like to go big or go home. Now every time I have done this I have experienced sudden seconds long freezes every few minutes. I assume this comes with the territory of mods.

My question is this: can I avoid this? Is there like a RAM limit on starbound I can remove or something? Or do I just suck it up and deal.

Same here, having the same issue as Wisherkiller, Khsar, and Moka Ganster. I've spent quite a while just attempting to go down the mod list and remove whatever may seem to affect it (as well as other things that I dont find myself using anyways) and I still can't attack/regen/take damage.

What MOD is making you use coal and pixels to make ore bars.

i am having the same problem as both Wisherkiller and Khsar I tried removing the no touch damage mod but that did not help

How do I know when to stop? I sometimes wonder if my game will burn down. I have around 300 mods. You are a true hero.

I have same problem as Wisherkiller. One of these mods is making my energy not regen, no damage, can't die and can't use melee weapons

I recently downloaded this entire mod pack like 2 days ago and im recently gettin a problem where:
1: my energy isnt regening
2: im immune to all damage
3: i cant use certain weapons (most melee weapons)
with so many mods this might be difficult to find out on my own

It might not be hard, but the hardest part is getting all of the mods.

(I haven't tried it yet)

I press subscribe to all, then looked at how much was in the collection. This is my new computer.
