I don't remember if this is possible. I remember when I made the free play portion of the scenario there were some settings I couldn't unlock due to the way scenarios are handled differently than regular games.
You're welcome!
LOL, only in the screenshot. Pretty sure this was brought to my attention shortly after release and I fixed it in game, but was too lazy to go back and take a new screenshot.
It's been a while since I've done any modding, so I don't think I'm in a position to give good answers to the questions you may have. My suggestion would be to learn about modding from one of the online fan forums - my go-to when learning about things was the CivFanatics forum, which has a lot of good resources on the topic. Fair warning, it's a steep learning curve.
Unfortunately there's nothing to be done. The Giant map size was never officially a supported size, it was just something that modders enabled, and then one day that size no longer worked.
Giant or huge? There is a giant map in here, but it's not supposed to be accessible because it doesn't work (it broke a while back at one of the civ updates, I don't think civ supports maps that size anymore).
Do you have the More Civs Allowed in Multiplayer mod? If not, see the link in the description above. Civ6 has a cap on number of civs in multiplayer, so you need a mod to undo the cap in order to play this scenario.
There might be a Russian translation for the 2020 mod, but I'm basically done updating the 2018 version unless some major issue comes to light that needs fixing.
Who are you playing as? I tested all the major civs, and while some do start with a deficit it can be quickly rectified with the right policy selection and by setting up trade routes.
I don't know what could be causing the problem, as the method you have described is the same as what I've tested in the past. However, since Civ has been getting constant updates lately it is possible something has broken, so I will try to test this again when I can.
Multi-play - Internet and invite friends. Both players have the 2018 mod and More civs allowed mod. I believe all other mods were disabled.
Using the huge earth 2018 map. You can pick the nation and hit launch only to be told there are not enough players.
Any ideas appreciated.
Sorry for the late reply, I somehow got unsubbed to this thread so didn't get the notification there were new posts. In order to get around the turn limit (and to change other settings such as active victory conditions) you need to use the "Free Play" mode, outlined in the description above.
Do you have the " More Civs Allowed in Multiplayer" mod (link in description above) active for both participants? This scenario uses more civs than the base game allows in multiplayer, so you will get errors when trying to launch if you don't have that mod.
I have checked, and for me the new DLCs pose no conflict with this mod. But it is always possible that content loads in different orders for different people, and sometimes load order is all it takes for things to be fine for one person but broken for another. I have set this mod to load last, but who knows.
@UwU
See the link to the standalone civs mod in the description above (last section). Using this mod you cannot play with the civs in a normal game, but in that one you can (I had to make different mods because, well, some of the civs are cheating in this scenario to maintain the balance I wanted, which would not do for a normal game).
Apologies for the late replies. I somehow go unsubbed to this thread, so I wasn't getting notifications.
@sebastian.traeger
I do not know if this is possible, but if mods can be manually installed on iPad you can use the direct download link in the description to download the files for this mod.
@Supramundaner.
The Chinese governments in both Beijing and Taipei agree, but disagree on who should be in charge. De facto, China and Taiwan are two separate nations.
@NovaAlmonds
If you haven't already, make sure that you don't have any other mods running when trying to play this scenario. Conflicts with other mods is the most common cause of crashes (since this mod cuts a wide swathe with what it changes).
While that would be great, unfortunately it is not going to happen. The only reason I was able to have a unit like that in the Earth 2010 mod for Civ4 is that the mechanics already existed in the game (from the Privateer unit, I believe). Unless a similar mechanic gets added by Firaxis for Civ6, no such unit will be appearing in my mods.
@yaobaibuhei1996
Thanks. The main difference is that 2020 uses the GS rule set while 2018 uses the standard rule set, and the mechanics of the mods are adjusted accordingly. Also 2020 has a different leader set than 2018.
Thank you for the response! I can't wait to play it when the update arrives. I hope you can understand how fantastic this mod series has been. I have loved this idea since Civ V and know you've put a lot of effort into it. So, thank you and I wish you the best on the future update for 2020!
