gay monster dad has a mod "Resource Extractor" that works well with similar features, but it might be a little overpowered for some people's taste. That idea would be a good vanilla-eqsue addition, similar to this mod, which should just be in the game anyways.

I'm working on it right now. Plant blocks and plant furniture will give plant fibre at the level 1 agriculture table, at the level 2 agriculture table you'll be able to turn food and plant products like cotton into plant fibre.

Couple ideas for making other blocks more useful: Use a workbench (wooden or not) to grind sandstone into sand. Use some crafting station or another to turn loose silt into sand. Both would also have the added bonus of giving more sources of glass. :P

If there are any more blocks out there without a use I'd like to see if you can come up with ideas for what to dow ith them, like turning plant and flower blocks into plant fiber or something. (I believe you use plant fiber to make them into that but it would be nice to get something back out of them.)

I was surprised that no one had a mod on the workshop with this feature yet. It was the first thing I found irritating after returning to Starbound since 2015.

Giving useless terrain blocks a use is always a plus!
