You can turn the Pipe requirement/cooling off in the settings, so you only need electricity i believe

Thanks, but it requires complete new infrastructure with pipes. I wanted to stay with just electricity as consumable

it works on version 1.3, but on version 1.4, when installing a shield, resources are taken away, but the shield is not placed.... checked on a big shield

yeah works well for me too so far.
Also that you can no longer see the preview radius while placing the shield, is somewhat cumbersome, not knowing if the spot fits correctly from the start.

The pre release works well for me, the only 2 issues I see is that central climate does not work (aka does not cool the shield making it stronger) and that after you load back into your colony the shield reverts back to its original size. ( if you made the shield 23 in size to be smaller you have to reset it every time you load back in) but very minor issues, but glad to see it updated def one of my favorite mods.

Just a heads up to those unaware, the authors have a 1.3 pre-release mod on github ( https://github.com/rimworld-frontierdevelopment/Shields/releases ).
Just download and unzip the files into your mods folder, no guarantees but seems to work for me in 1.3. Thanks JonnyNova, and hope this helps y'all!

Erm, so I had my colonist shoot towards the shield, it was powered and everything, and it didn't block those shots...is that normal, because I don't want to stand behind my 'shield' laughing at a pikeman only for his shot to go straight through and obliterate my brains.

Is this mod updated for use with 1.2 only? This was usable on 1.0 and 1.1, why doesn't it have backwards compatibility to those versions like everything else in the workshop?
