In Summary
You're not going to be able to use any renewable energy, and you'll be fighting a lot of bugs.
i have been waiting for a rimworld mod so long for this... this makes me cry...
The scenario should say what it gets rid of and what it does when you look at it ingame.
They can have a workshop bit and be a mercantilist ship, and if they run out of fuel the power goes out, and the oxygen, the engines, meaning they have an alert where they have to refuel before they crash into planets below...
That's a bit complicated.
Presumably you could make a worldgen structure that has a 100% chance of appearing on the starting map, but how you could get the game to stop this on other maps (and other scenarios) is beyond me.
Anyway, this is just something i think would be an amazing addition to my favourite scenario! :D
