I am on my first play through, my party is level 15, my main char is a summoner, and it already feels incredibly strong. I play it as a summoner/support though. I will try out your mod, but here are some things to consider in the build that I use. My summoning stat is currently around 14, with hydro at like 7 and then 1 point in geo and pyro for buffs. Yes, I am way over geared through thievery haha.

-Summoners can do either phys or magic damage.

-Both summon and support spells (buffs, heals, teleport, ect) don't scale off of any attribute, meaning that you are able to put points into constitution/wits.

I have had many hard fights already where my summoner has been the last one alive and been able to finish off 2 or 3 enemies. I think my build might be broken with this mod when it comes to late game, but I will still test it.

SORRY, I think the patch, which I installed together with this mod caused the problem. Was not aware I installed the patch the same time. Seems to be a patching issue.

Mod disables name plates of Items, characters, locations etc. for me during usual gameplay

@Cancerkitten ok, i had that problem try this, after you enable the mod and get stuck on loading, wait about ten minutes don't worry the game will load, after that when you're in game quicksave it (F5), then quickload (F8), should be working normally now ! Enjoy

Gonna start by saying i really really like this mod, but lately ive been having trouble with it i had it enabled for a time and it worked perfect but i disabled it just before the act 2 transition and tried re enableing it but i cant get any of my existing saves to load past 75% then the game stops responding ive tried rearranging my load order ive disabled all other mods and its the same batch off mods i had the first time no new mods since it was working. any advice would be much appreciated.

Why wouldn't this work with more AP mods?

I'm currently using the max AP to 8, starting AP 6 mod.

Man this is tempting, i'm torn between using this or the infinite incarnate mod, having a hard time deciding which lol. Back on Original Sin 1 I made liberal use of the Geomancy Summon Spider as a "companion" to my character. I lost my Spider in Original Sin2 since the option wasn't there in Geomancy so I picked up Summoning instead.
With your mod, are summon turn durations left alone so they stay out for the same # of turns?

Can you add a version of this mod that increases the lifespan of the incarnates to 9999 turns? This mod is sadly incompatible with mods that do this.

Hey i enjoy this mod alot but it doesnt work well with another mod that reduces cooldowns of spells, is there any way u could make a mod that simply increases the number of summons without changing cooldowns? That would be awesome.

Actually, I almost feel like if you swapped the stat scaling on the bone spider and the wolf, that would solve the problem entirely.

As to a solution, I'm unsure. The incarnate seems quite balanced, especailly since you need a lot of AP to buff it up with infusions. The bone widow just walks out the gate with more damage and survivability. Perhaps improve the wolf, as it's a source power and should be damn good, and then...maybe nerf the bone widow in general. I'm guessing it is balanced around a character that is mostly a necromancer, not with tons of points in summoning. Can you alter how it's stats scale with summoning, perhaps?

@F.DefofChaos My summoner buddy and I continue our playthrough, and I have to say the 3 summons is certainly making him really enjoy being a main summon character.

Speaking to the balance question you brought up earlier, i.e. "If it is way overpowered I can scale back the stats on the incarnate, wolf, and bone widow." I do think there are some concerns. Up until he got bone widow everything felt fairly balanced, but now with bone widow things have gotten a bit . . . wacky. He is playing Ifan, and I think the wolf, if anything, is underpowered and could use a buff, it requires a source point, after all. But that bone widow is insane. Even without eating any corpses it hits fairly hard, and it's hp makes it nearly impossible to put down.

I tried installing the one you have on nexusmods and i cant seem to get it to work i placed it in same folder as the mods that come from steam. Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2
but when i load up the game only ones i see are from steam

There used to be a mod that increases totem spawned per skill use to 3 but now it's gone. It made totems feel useful. I feel like it'd apply here also. Just an idea, not completely needed for this game.

@Malorn I actually already have, I have not published it currently to Steam but have it at the Nexus. Have him check out the optional files section for Increased Summons. All it does is just increase the amount of summons you can have.

Personally, I'd love to see a mini-mod of this with just the summon cap extended. I have a summoner buddy who'd love that.

I am going to delete any posts complaining that we are taking an already powerful ability and making it stronger. The point in the mod ultimatly is to allow people to actually feel like a summoner and have mutiple summons out on the battefield at once, instead of just having 1 summon.

If you are going to complain about the mod, just don't use it. I don't want the negativity on the forum board.

@Pyrrhian the tag is balance as is in alters the balance in the game. I also retitled the item to [Buffing] as a suggestion from someone else. Yes I know in the mods section of the actual game it still says balance, that will updated when I do an update on the mod.

I just figured out how to modify just the player's summons and leaving enemies at default, so I kind of need someone to help me balance this mod out if it is needed.

I just had a thought, if you had all 4 people playing as summoners, you would literally have 12 summons you could be running at the same time. But I don't think people play with 4 summoners so I really don't know the implications of this mod now.

@Kalthramis, I can also mod it where enemies can also summon 3 and reduce their cooldowns as well, but from my experience w/ the playthrough there wasn't that many encounters where the enemies used Incarnate and Bone Widow summons. I know if I reduce their stats, it will also reduce the stats of enemy summons as well but seeing that I only remember 2-3 fights with them, I don't think it would affect the overall experience of the game that much.

@Kalthramis, I am not 100% sure. I didn't play a summoner when I played through the game so I have no idea what it would be like at the last stages of the game. If it is way overpowered I can scale back the stats on the incarnate, wolf, and bone widow. Since it works on saves, I would love it if someone that did spec towards summoning would test it out for me towards the later stages of the game and tell me what they felt of the experience.

@Author, how balanced has this been in your experience? I do love summoning, and hate the restrictions on it, but I'm loathe to use a mod that's OP

Cuz, let be honest. Summoner is already one of the best schools.
