This makes me realise I went from being pretty knowledgeable at Insurgency modding, to almost completely forgetting it all lol. If I can find my folder of insurgency mods somewhere, I should be able to answer in more detail. though I did at one point, lose a bunch of my mods, and mods in progress due to hdd failure I think.

I think It was called VTFEdit, after opening up the game files with GCFScape. But I think most of the change in appearance came from editing some sort of text-based properties file, rather than the texture itself. But I can't remember much of this.

otherwise, try putting the downloaded mod file into steamapps/common/insurgency2/insurgency/custom

if you haven't already, see if you have any better success on solo mode. Otherwise, I'm not sure. Might need to reinstall the game or something. Another thing you can try is to copy the downloaded mod into common/insurgency2/insurgency/custom

I had trouble getting better reflections for now. I can't remember how I did it before. Might have been by removing fog or something, but that caused the game to not load, so I'll get back to that Idea later.

I went possibly too far during testing, so it ended up like a mirror. It was literally a perfect copy of the sky.

Cooly yea, I just took a look at the water in-game and it actually looks pretty darn good already, but I am curious to see if what it would look like with a little more reflection. Thanks for making this mod btw!

pyrotechNick, I'm pretty sure I can increase the amount of surface reflection in the settings. I just didn't want to go overboard with it. Maybe I'll maybe a more reflective version.

It still doesn't look like water but it's a lot better than the poopy butt water that the devs made. The water is missing a surface reflection but whether that's possible to add is another problem. If they just added a simple cubemap reflection on the original water, I feel like that would have fixed it.

Default water is realistic. Murky and all that stuff. "Improved water" is caraibic. 10/10 would pass the holidays there.

no offense but this is kinda immersion breaking,the mod is pretty dope at reshading the water but in a dirty canal/river full of mud and dusts,there's no transparent/clean looking water....

Just checked, and it covers buhriz, embassy, and revolt. I may have missed somehting, but i think those are the only 3 with flat water. I'll have a look later and see what I can do for the other water, like heights.

It affects 2 other maps as well. I think it only affects the flat water, and not the running streams. And yeah, you can port it to day of infamy, Ribbon.
