You could add one line to the *very end* of SingleUnitGraphics.sql that applies a consistent scale multiplier, e.g.:
UPDATE ArtDefine_UnitMemberInfos SET Scale = Scale * 0.72;
0.72 is roughly Reduced Unit Graphics scale. 0.48 would be roughly vanilla scale, and 0.36 would be roughly R.E.D. scale.
Note that I've released an unofficial version of R.E.D. Modpack [forums.civfanatics.com] which adds ~30 new models, including some ethnic embarked units.
Very odd. Do other mods work for you?
You could try unsubscribing here, then download and install it manually from the CivFanatics [forums.civfanatics.com] thread.
I also forgot to ask, is this mod compatible with DirectX9 graphics? I was unable to get DX10/11 version to work on my system.
It's somewhat out of date, but this checklist [forums.civfanatics.com] is good for troubleshooting mods. Deleting the cache is usually my first step when mod behavior is weird.
I'm actually a long time Civ player, but haven't played for a couple of years. I guess I halucinated the feature being standard in Civ5. I had forgot that they got rid of stacking and also eliminated the graphics feature at the same time. Personally, I've always thought the single units made things look much simpler, especially on a large map...
As far as getting the mod to work, you need to hit Mods from the main menu. Eventually your subscribed mods will appear in the list. You check the circle next to the ones you want to activate, hit Next, and start a new game (or load a previous one).
second, and I'm really feeling stupid, I clicked the subscribe option, but nothing changed in the game. I'm using the Civ5 Complete package (just wanted to start fresh). was I supposed to do another step, install, or whatever, couldn't see any other buttons to push...
I probably won't remember to check your answer.
It's pretty easy to slow down the animation times, actually. It would be a separate mod, but I'd be happy to make it. Would this be across the board? Just melee? (...and surely not bombers!)
In the beginning it felt a little weird, but after increasing AA and playing a bit, it's awesome. It feels simpler and much more personal. The only thing that could be improved would perhaps be the animation time during combat, to make it last longer. But that is probably tricky.
Anyway, great work with the mod and thanks for sharing! =)
