Short story: most of the bugs weren't bugs with this mod, but had to do with how the new species mod makers cloned their mods and forgot to rename files.

The bug Slain reported is the only current valid bug. Upper right top 5 slots do not have pop-up descriptions on mouse-over. Mod is playable since this is not a game-breaking bug.
