Update: Per-pool behaviors & simplified configuration (v1.4)

This update rewires the internal config so everything is now per-pool, and the old global toggles have been merged into a single, clearer “replacement behavior” setting for each item pool.

What changed

Per-pool settings for everything

Every item pool (including Greed and custom RGON pools) now has its own:

Bag allows repeats (ON/OFF)

Instant Breakfast-mode replacement (ON/OFF)

Replacement behavior

Fixed replacement item (used when behavior = Fixed item)

New combined “Replacement behavior” setting
Instead of juggling:

“Use vanilla pool fallback order”

“Merge with Treasure”

“Breakfast replacement type”

…each pool now has a single enum that covers all meaningful combinations:

Use this pool only

Use pool + Treasure (mixed bag)

Use pool + Treasure (vanilla-style order)

Glitched items (TMTRAINER-style, REPENTOGON)

Fixed item (per-pool item ID)

The “glitched” and “fixed” behaviors intentionally ignore merge / fallback settings (since those would be meaningless there) and just generate glitched/fixed items for that pool’s forced Breakfasts. If glitched generation or the fixed item fails, the mod falls back to normal pool-based replacement.

Global settings simplified

All gameplay-affecting options are per-pool now.

The only global option left is a “Reset all settings to defaults” button in MCM.

Under the hood

True “Breakfast mode” detection still uses REPENTOGON’s pool APIs where available.

The bag system per pool is unchanged: by default every eligible item appears once before the bag refills, unless you enable repeats.

The mod still respects unlocks and the NO! trinket (no unwanted actives).

Normal Breakfasts (from healthy pools / special drops) are still untouched – only forced “end of run” Breakfast spam gets cleaned up.

⚠️ Note about configs

This update changes the save format for the mod’s config.
Old config files are not migrated – if the mod detects an older format, it just discards it and uses fresh defaults.

If your settings seem to have reset after updating, that’s expected for this version. Just reconfigure your pools in Mod Config Menu.

Update: New Breakfast Modes, Vanilla Pool Fallback, and MCM Reset

This update adds more control over how the game behaves once it hits true “Breakfast mode”, plus some QoL improvements in the Mod Config Menu.

New pool behavior option

Added a global toggle: “Use vanilla pool fallback order”.

When ON and a pool is set to Merge with Treasure, replacements are drawn from that room’s pool first, and only fall back to Treasure / Greed Treasure after it’s exhausted – just like the base game does before everything turns into Breakfast.

When OFF (default), the original pool and Treasure are still mixed together into a single bag, matching the old behavior.

New Breakfast replacement types

Added “Breakfast replacement type” (0–2) in MCM:

0 – Use item pools (default): Original behavior; pulls replacements from the original pool / Treasure according to your pool settings.

1 – Glitched items: Every forced Breakfast becomes a random TMTRAINER-style glitched item (requires REPENTOGON / procedural items).

2 – Fixed item: Every forced Breakfast becomes the same collectible of your choice.

Added “Fixed replacement item” setting to pick which item is used in mode 2 (defaults to Death Certificate).

Mod Config Menu QoL

Added a “Reset all settings to defaults” button to quickly restore the mod’s original behavior.

Shortened and cleaned up MCM descriptions so they don’t overflow the UI.

Default settings still behave like previous versions, so existing setups should feel the same unless you turn the new options on.
