1.03 Update[/h2]
  • Included an inheritance mechanic for unlanded courtiers, which respects the realm's inheritance laws. Spouses receive the inheritance first. If no spouses are available, then it goes to children with the gender determined by inheritance laws. If no children are available, then it goes to any siblings, and if there are no siblings, then to parents. To prevent clever player tactics, if a courtier dies with coin that has no suitable heirs, then the gold vanishes.

  • Updated the spouse calculations. For courtiers, the primary spouse (the husband for male orientated religions) receives an annual "payment" from their spouses should they have any coin. This will allow the overall household to build up their wealth and affluence, which is shared between spouses.

  • Councilors should now receive coin as intended, which wasn't happening in some niche cases.

1.02 - Update
  • Removed the mechanic that allows mercenaries to gain gold from winning battles. Wasn't working reliably and was leading to some niche cases of mega wealthy mercenaries. Mercenary captains and knights will now receive a set amount of gold: captains 10 to 50 and knights 1 to 10 per year they are employed. I was hoping for a more dynamic method of getting them coin, but alas, I'll have to try something else.

1.01 - Update
  • Added increased mercenary costs at higher affluence levels (mercenaries demanding higher amounts of coin from obviously rich rulers)
  • Decreased intrigue resistance at higher affluence levels (jealousy rivals scheme a lot, watch out)
