Update 4


Simple update, adds support for 42.13- multiplayer. For installation, follow instructions normally, up until:
mods/Silent Hill Dynamic Music Replacement/42/media/sound/banks/Desktop
After Desktop, select which build you plan to play on. The BANK inside works for the chosen build- and ONLY the chosen build. 42.13 won't work on 42.12, vice versa.

Update 3


This is the big one. With the generous help of user Warmacha, several tricky songs have been replaced and modified to fit the dynamic music framework. Out of the 60 playable songs, 59 have been replaced. With this, you'll find 3 new ambient tracks, and 4 new combat songs. I am satisfied enough with the current state of the mod to take it out of WIP status, therefore this update marks the release of the full version. I'll do what I can to make sure this mod stands until yet another overhaul of the music system, obviously this doesn't mark the end of support. Lastly, to all those who took the time to update, comment, discuss, bug report, and check change notes such as this one, thank you.

Update 2

Simple update, focuses on removing a (fucking) windows 10 sound effect
in two of the songs, "Mirrored Guilt (SH2)" and "Unfortunate Destiny (Avith Ortega)".


On music going silent randomly:
Unfortunately, with the addition of 42.12 last month came tons of audio
bugs, worst of which is the music going completely silent until the game
is relaunched. I see all the coments complaining, but theres simply
nothing I or anyone else can do until TIS rolls out their fix. Eventually. Hopefully.


To update, follow the original instructions exactly, and put the
new BANK file in the Deskop folder. Dont forget to make a backup!
Lastly, incase you haven't read the new instructions, make sure to
go your audio tab and change the music from official or legacy to
"random". This allows more songs to fit into the game, as both the
legacy and official songs have been replaced.

This update focuses on adding and fixing many tracks.

Fixed:
- Bug where the audio exit would play early and overlap during loading
- Menu music stopping randomly for minutes at a time
- Bug where many (like 5 or 6) tracks would not play at all

Soon to fix:
- Longer tracks overlapping during combat or other ambient songs
- All music stopping entirely after 30-120 minutes of playtime
The last bug is the worst, most experience ruining one, I know. After 42.12 something
broke the way the dynamic music system works in the way I understand it, but I promise
that I'm doing my best to try and get this awful bug fixed as soon as possible. The only
fix I have to offer at this moment is to close and reopen the game ~1 hour of playtime.

Lastly, thanks to a suggestion from @TheCripsyDud on steam, I've
found and added many songs from an Akira Yamaoka inspired
artist, Avith Ortega. He makes incredible SH2-like songs that simply
deserve more attention. Please check him out, he's great!
