Made it to Turo this time to find an express in bits and pieces and a carriage strewn all over the tracks on the approach

It isn't uselss, A lot of important information is in the manual for it.

Reverser Hold E and move it with W and S, It has to be beneath 30% regulator to happen. Brakes you have to release them with the Small Ejector and leave it slightly open to stop them coming back on.

Make sure released using the Small Injector? Fully open it, Fully close it, then notch it open a few times. As GWR locomotives are slightly different to normal steam locos.

Suggest also not to accerlate 100% away either.

Cylinder cocks are opened but 56xx does not have enough power to start the train: brakes are released.

Hello JLD95. Make sure Cylinder cocks are opened when ever you stop. Especially when been standing still. Let it go through a few revolutions of the wheels then close them again.

Takes some time to get used to, but becomes second nature.
