Whiplash Military Industries Infantry Drop Pod Mark 1
100% Vanilla as always :)


This is the standard infantry drop pod of Whiplash Military Industries and the same drop pod used in the Hunchback Planetary Dropship.
Designed to get troops from orbit to the ground fast and reliably, the WMI Infantry Drop Pod safely lands troops on the ground without any user input. The landing sequence is totally automatic and is handled by my Automatic Drop Pod Script.

The occupant has access to a small cargo container which can be used to store weapons, ammo, and other small cargo. The drop pod is cheap, light, and disposable which makes mass production of this pod quite easy.

  • Place this drop pod onto your drop ship's merge block.
  • Press 1 to drop
  • Press 2 to toggle the radio antenna

First I like all your ships and scripts.
Second, I made a respawn ship mod with his drop pod and your ship. Is there any problem?

So, I added grav blocks to the bottom, and mounted them sideways on the underside of an IMDC Destroyer. 12G worth of grav drives, tug this thing out feet first at about 90m/s and it still works perfectly even in motion. Still trying to find a good script that can get me onto or around a GPS target. Otherwise, I use a script that places a GPS at atmo edge for a straight down drop onto a known surface GPS. zero velocity, I jump to the point, deploy the pods, and then jump away. Works really well!
