Return of the Pretenders

Background: When the Banks update rolled out, I played around with some of the features. Then went back to emperor-killing because I kiled to watch an imperial empire burn.

A dozen pretenders later, and the Kingdom of Yondarim has yet to fall into chaos. I decided to CC into assuming direct control of the empire, then kill the ruler. Nothing.

I exited the game and looked at pretender_events.txt, only to find that the Banks update all but de-implemented the pretender mechanics. Sure, a new leader is installed, but there is no unrest or anything. So I decided to fill that chaos with this mod.

Version 1.1 released. Changelog:

• Added succession crisis terror attacks
  
• Reduced Troubled Succession planet modifier from +100 unrest and -30% happiness to +25 unrest and -5% happiness
  
• Added new modifier: Troubled Succession (country version): +50 unrest and -30% happiness empire wide
  
• Other empires are notified of succession crises

What this mod does: This mod re-implements the pretender event into the game. Currently, when a monarch dies heirless, this mod adds +50 unrest and -30% happiness empire-wide and +25 unrest and -5% happiness planet-wide. It also triggers succession crisis events that are rather similar to unrest events. Other empires are notified of the succession crisis.

Known issues: The popups can get annoying at times. It gets really annoying when an empire in succession crisis has a lot of planets. I'm working to fix that in the next update.

TODO: Add wars of succession.

Compatibility: Incompatible with anything that changes pretenders_events.txt.
