I really hate the way these community items don't perform in SFM like they're suppose to in game.

I received a request to fix the All_Class Dead of Night. On first quick inspection I actually thought that the extracted TF2 Game item worked as it was suppose to. HOWEVER, after looking at the TF2 Wiki page, I found that the sweater was suppose to be paintable as well.

The Game Extract models do allow you to paint them, however, the Dead of Night misc is actually 2 separate models. They can be found as the xms2013_jacket_{class}.mdl and the xmas2013_jacket_{class}_S2.mdl if you extract the game cache VPKs.

The first model , the xms2013_jacket_{class} model allows you to paint the fur on the jacket only and the second, the xmas2013_jacket_{class}_s2 model allows you to paint the sweater only, but your character model can't wear both misc items at the same time in a manner that you can get both paintable on the character at the same time.

Well, I've reworked the models for the entire team (both Red and Blue), added a new material and these now enhanced versions allow you to do that! Using these enhanced models, you can now change the colour of both the fur trim and the sweater separately on the one model using override materials.

These are independent models, they can go into any mod folder (including the lower level workshop folder) and not interfere with or be interefered with other models.

You have to remember that in game misc items are designed for use with the in game player models, so if you try to use these with the TF_Movies HWM models you may find that they clip.

No they do not work with my paintable team skins. These are Red and Blue only and both are paintable.

it still doesnt load for me

it showed up but like, clips with medic. painted fine, just clips. im using the player mdoel

For some reason not showing up, but this is more of a problem im having in general with workshop items

for some reason when i paint this it paints the entire jacket including the sleeves and tints it to whatever colour i use rather than just painting the paintable parts, any idea how to stop that?

Putting it on before locking the bones is what is the problem. I don't think there is a fix for it anymore

When locked the bones, did you make sure that only the bones that were locked were selected before you zeroed them into place?

Zeroing unlocked bones will pull those bones into their parent bone and cause clipping.

I am using the player model. After an hour, I tested on the HWM model too, it also clipped (of course)

If you're using the HWM model, yes, it is going to clip. Use the player model instead because misc items are made for the player models for use in TF2, the SFM HWM models are different.
