Somerset & Dorset Railway Network V1.3.2

The Somerset & Dorset Rail Network explores the branch/main lines that connect with the the S&DJR.

V1.3.2 Includes:

- Fix for loading unloading passengers.

- Bristol - Bath Green Park line complete

- Bristol harbour via redcliffe & Parson Street (Limited siganlling)


V1.2 Includes:



- Radstock West to Bristol temple Meads branch line.

- Mainline from Bristol Temple Meads to Mangotsfield.



Both these lines provide a challenge and allow for a wide range of locomotives and wagons to be used.

The Radstock-Bristol line has gradients of 1in58 between Hallatrow and Clutton with the most gentle being 1in128 out of Radstock. The Bristol Mangotsfield Line is a 1in60 which will put even the most powerful locomties to the test on a climb out or decent into Bristol

Bath-Bristol Mailine history:

The line was created in 1835 (6 years before the GWR) as a horse drawn tramway to bring coal into Bristol from the south Gloucestershire fields. In 1844 it was converted to double track Broad-gauge by Brunel and extended to Gloucester. In 1846 the Midland railway took over the line (although the line was well into GWR territory) and converted it to standard gauge and extended the line from Mangotsfield to Bath in 1869. The Line lost it passenger services on 7th March 1966 although the line was still used for gloucester service until 1970 and freight ceased the following year.





Frome-bristol Hsitory:

The line was first built by the Bristol & North Somerset railway and opened to passenger on 3rd september 1873 and was acquired by the GWR on 1st July 1884. Gwr converted its broad gauge line from Radstock to frome in 1874 and the first passenger service ran the full line in 1875. The Line was closed in 1959 to passengers and to all traffic in 1968 after the line near Pensford suffered from storm damage the closure of the line had already been plannned.

I've got all the DLC required but sadly it does not appear on the game, any reason why this might be the case ?

@truemanoliver I'm not sure what you mean that the Mangotsfield to bath isn't included (as it is). can you give more detail?
Keynsham is missing as I hadn't finished building that section of line.

How come the line from Mangotsfield to Bath via Bitton isn’t included. Also keynsham station between bath and Bristol isn’t on there

It is the IHH class 45

Is that a green Class 45 in the last pic, I didn't know there was a BR green one available.

Unless it's from IHH, I've got a vague recollection that there might have been one from there.

The west highland line is used for the track and some of the scenery, the route won't work without it.
To check that it is installing properly on the start screen go to drive then select the workshop tab it should then show a dialogue box saying installing workshop items it should then show up in the list.

Hey I'm having an issue with it not showing up in quick drives the only item of DLC I don't have is the West Highland Line extension. I've unsubbed and resubbed several times but it isn't appearing for me still.

Sadly most of it is required as most of the had buildings or scenery that i needed. Without them the route would have alot of gaps and the track wouldn't show as it uses the highland mainline. The only one you could get away without having is the london to brighton line as i only used the battersea dock cranes for bristol harbour.
If you wanted to run it with what you had you'd have to use Railworks tools (free) to swap out track & scenery.
