No, there isn't (unless you kill them). You are ment to have a crew of six and need to keep them alive because it's part of the mission.

Tried it out, the new upgrades they did to the MDV require an update to get in. too bad they can't find some way to make the changes to the item automatic :)

It's seeming this might need an update to take advantage of the new usable faucest in the MDV.
