描述
Beta for the magician's distance Education program .You are a taking distance education courses on wizardry. This is a mage support class, it gives you high amounts of sagacity, and a few handy spells, in exchange for a permenant decreace in total hitpoints, and hitpoint regen. The first few times you level you will off-set the normal hp growth and in the last few levels you can expect to see your hitpoints decline. so, a complete mage will be reduced to !10hp! if you take all levels of DistanceEd at once.

Lv1: Sagacity +1, Haywire +2, MagicPower +1, HP -3, Blood Mana*
Lv2: Sagacity +1, Haywire +2, MagicPower +1, ManaReg +1, HP -3, HpReg -1, Syzygy Drink
Lv3: Sagacity +1, Haywire +2, MagicPower +1, ManaReg +1, HP -3, HpReg -1, Wushu Style
Lv4: Sagacity +1, Savy +1, Haywire +3, MagicPower +2, ManaReg +1 HP -4, HpReg -1 Energy Ball
Lv5: Sagacity +1, Savy +1, Haywire +3, MagicPower +2, ManaReg +1, HP -4, HpReg -1 UnskilledTeleport
Lv6: Sagacity+3, Savy +3, Haywire +4, MagicPower +4, ManaReg +1, HP -5, HpReg -3, Sight -1

Blood Mana = Same as Bloodmage's first ability, but only triggers 50% of the time.
Syzygy Drink = an unlimited supply of energy drink provide some nimbleness at the cost of total mana pool.
Wushu Style = A moderate increase in attack and blocking at the cost of total mana pool.
Energy Ball = Small missile erupting into a 3x3 energy wave. Has a chance to stun.
Unskilled Teleport = similiar to Invisible Geometries, with a 30% chance to fail.

Plans as of June 26th
My next step will be to polish what i have, and decided if Lv6 should be enchanced....its not as good as the rest of the levels at the moment. Feedback on Syzygy drink and Wushu style needed, as are comments on Balance and/or OP issues. I will move to the dredmor forum when i get more substance to the class.

Garison, one way to offset the fact you die constantly at level three by being pure mage with this? Dont take any points in this till later on. It looks like it would go well with the Radiant Wizard skill too, but taking both might cause problems.

I've come up with an idea for distance education spells, as for names they aren't good just the idea counts
1. Close Distance (teleports hero to pointed OR randomized tile and explodes in X area and Y radius)
2. Calculative Blast (shoots a magical projectile dealing damage based on how far the opponent is wether thats single target or AoE should scale based on its purpose aoe less dmge single target more dmge)
3. Ether State (passive skill that requires mana upkeep and gives you stats and resistance or w.e you want) you could take all those stats you put on your skills and rebalance it into this spell and keep the last level of uber stats.

From what i can see this is Blood mage and pyromancer/ley lines combined into 1 skill with a steroid injection. Obvious fire ball is pretty much the zoo claering skill of pyro, mana regen and mana per kill are two seperate supports when combined is already uber. To put it all into one skill isn't doesn't sound like a mod really. I guess you could rebalance it and change the damage types/ skill effects and animations to make it stand alone. Great i idea, needs work though.

a full wizard build will yeild 19hp, after 5 levels of "distance education" that number drops to 10hp, it would normally be 29hp at this point. Enemies on floor 3 kill me relatively easy on a critical hit, even with the warlocks mana sheild up...or if i step on trap.
suggestions to improve, tweak, and/or rebalance are welcome. Poor use of the fireball have killed me a few times too...hehe...maybe i just play bad.

Direction to improve is what i'm looking for. this is just my beta version to get some feed back. i plan to rework the spells to something more unique to the class after i get the stats balanced.

so, what aspect do you see as overpowering? mana regen ? magic power? base stat increase?

should i add more levels and keep the player from advancing so quickly or should i add more disadvantages and allow players to progress to the end early in the game, so they can branch out into other things.
