NEOTOKYO - cs_nt_ballistrade

描述
This is a port of nt_ballistrade_ctg_d from the SourceMod, NEOTOKYO.

Disclaimer: I do not own the map. I simply ported it to work in CS:GO. I have not been able to contact Studio Radi-8, developers of NEOTOKYO, in order to get proper permission. If, however, I am asked by them, Valve, or a Workshop moderator to take this down, I will.


Issues: There is one issue dealing with the rabbitfrog thing flying around in the skybox. It doesn't animate properly. The map still plays fine, but it constantly fills the console with errors. It's mostly an annoyance, but removing the thing messes up the lighting beyond my ability to fix. If anyone wants to take a crack at fixing it, contact me and I'll do what I can to get you what you need.

EDIT: I noticed that there are some missing textures. I'll be looking further into this. I know there are some files used by map props that don't even appear to exist in the files of NEOTOKYO, itself. I also realize I may be using an older version of the map before I checked all of that, as the missing textures seem to line up with the textures missing in an earlier version another mapper tested.

I'm just reading your description now, have you checked that there's not any info_lighting's connected to the rabbitfrog?

Also missing textures may be hidden in a .vpk

also studio radi-8 is deader than nt°, so you wont get flak for it

redlight sucks anyways lol. I'm pretty experienced with hammer (the technical side), I just thought there were some issues with opening vmf's generated by different versions of hammer.

Of course, you can just ask me to put ones on my list of ones to make and I'll eventually get around to it. The only one I won't even make an attempt on is Redlight, because that is a VERY inappropriate map.



TL;DR: Porting maps from other games takes a while, but I'll gladly port the ones you mentioned if you want me to.

As for how to do it, you need to unpack the .bsp files of the NT map to get the .vmf file for the map. I use BSPSource to do this. Copy all of the maps, materials, models, sounds, etc from your NEOTOKYO folder to your CS:GO folder. Then open the Hammer editor via the CS:GO SDK and open up that .vmf file. From there, you'll have to replace the "info_player_attacker" and "info_player_defender" entities with your T and CT spawn entities . You'll have to decide which one to replace with which team based on the locations of the original spawns, the game type you're going with, and where the objectives are. You'll likely have to look up some tutorials on how to make things like buy zones and bombsites. Once you think you're done, build the map, try it out with bots, and see if there's anything that needs fixing. That's the part that will take the longest, since the actual building process takes quite a long time and you have to do it every time you make a change or fix something.

I'll be porting more of them, don't you worry. I'm working on nt_ghost_ctg next. Found it makes for a decent defuse map. My list of ones I'm planning on porting includes Sentinel and isolation, so I'll be doing those two eventually. I also have Rise, Saitama, Skyline, and Subsurface on my list. I also completely forgot about the maps after Subsurface alphabetically when making my list, so I'll have to look at those. Still, you can expect more of these from me. If you want me to do those, I'll put them on my list. I'll mostly be going alphabetically unless I get stuck on one or feel like working on a different one for a while..
