DIY Windows - Glass Not Included (Vanilla Ships)

Fantastic new technology replaces the ugly, repetitive pipe maze background of your ship with a completely invisible* forcefield that lets in all of the wonderful view of space but none of that pesky light**.

This also removes the background for most of the doorways and the little bit of framing that the base windows have, so your ship might look a wee bit odd until you fill in the gaps.


This is an image-only mod for the vanilla ship backgrounds. It is completely client-based, the worst that could ever happen is that someone thinks you're crazy for installing windows to nowhere on your ship.


* Creating a visible, removable forcefield would be a lot more complex and less interoperable.
** I have no idea if it's possible to make the open background in a shipworld collect light like on a planet, but I'm not modifying the parts of the files that would do that (yet?).

Hey, turns out that @Springtrap else was annoyed by the same thing as me and overall beat me to making a mod for the problem which he's now brought over to the workshop! His implementation, Backgroundless Ships, leaves in the 2x5/5x2 tile background 'gutter' areas for the doors and hatches, so if you like those, you'll want his version.
