Shadow's Usable Planet Size Increase [Utopia 1.5]

描述
DEPRICATED!
This version of this mod is now considered depricated. Unfortunately, Steam and Stellaris did that aggrevating thing wherein they fail to recognize the original version of the mod and upload the revision as an all-new mod.

You may subscribe to that version here: http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=957472569
Alternatively, keep subscribed to this mod if you'd rather still be able to increase the size of habitats cheaply.

=====

The Usable Planet Size Increase mod does exactly what it says on the tin: it adds a planet edict, for 250 Influence, that increases the size of a planet, any planet, by 1 tile. Currently no technologies are required specifically for this, as it is presumed that you already have the technologies you need to do so if you can get there and settle there. The AI should feel free to use this edict as well, if they have enough influence, but they probably won't because the AI is dumb and bad at planning ahead and other edicts they can use have smaller costs.

[Thanks] go to Paradox forum users Onimuru and Naselus for helping me debug this sucker. The original mod which I took apart to figure out how to make this one is Averax's Planet Increase Size Edict. I wouldn't say mine is materially better than his when his is working, but I wrote some nice flavor text and made a logo for it.

[NOTICE:] This mod is really quite simple. If you wish to incorporate it into your own mod, you may do so without asking permission under the following conditions only: that being that you remove my fluff text from the localisation file and comments from all the files and make your own, along with making up your own key ID tags. If you'd rather incorporate it as-is, you must get my permission. Just ask!

If you liked this mod, or even if you didn't, check my workshop to see my others.

Thanks, Rumiko. Stellaris did that thing where it uploaded a new mod instead of a revision of the old one, the new one, with credit to you, can be found here: http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=957472569

I seem to figured it out. Be aware that I am inexperienced too and there might be a problem here... somewhere. But as far as I tested it works as expected. Here's what you should do:
Open file ..\common\edicts\increase_planetsize_edict.txt
Find "potential = { NOT = { planet_size = 25 } }" and change it to something like this:
" potential = {
NOT = {
root = { planet_size = 25 }
root = { is_planet_class = pc_habitat }
}
}"
Also, hooray to reverse engineering!

Alright. I'll try to look into it. No promisses though.

Okay, had a look at that mod. I like the look of it, and I see your point.
However, I've not played Stellaris in an age, let alone modded it. I'm not familiar with the post-Utopia content, so I don't know how I'd go about excluding habitats from Usable Planet Size Increase. If you could get someone who does know how to tell me how to correct my mod, I'll publish an update and mark it as compliant with the current Stellaris version.

Hello there. Love your mod. But I've ran into a slight problem with balance. As of now it allows you to add plots not only to planets but also to habitats. It's nothing big but makes mod like this one pointless - http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928792981 . I'd be very happy if something could be done to exlude habitats from an edict. Thanks anyway for both mod and possible future response :)

Possibly, but I've no Earthly idea how.
Rastro 2017 年 5 月 23 日 下午 5:28
would it be possible to make it a chance to spawn resources??
ShadowDragon8685  [作者] 2017 年 5 月 22 日 下午 8:17
Sorry, it just adds empty tiles.
Luck is No Excuse 2017 年 5 月 22 日 下午 5:17
Does this just add empty tiles or does it apply some RNG so it could be a new resource or empyty?

I WILL be updating this mod for 1.5. Frankly, I expect the "update" will be trivial, consisting of changing the compatible version number.
