Welcome to Easy Ingots Mod!

THIS MOD IS CURRENTLY INCOMPATIBLE WITH FRAKEN UNIVERSE

Easy Ingots is a mod that aims to remove some of the grind of the game by making it easier to get the materials you need so you can spend less time mining and more time exploring your universe and building your settlements! Easy Ingots does this by making it so you can get 2 bars from any ore instead of 1 bar from 2 ores.

Getting started with Easy Ingots is very straightforward. All you need is your furnace and your anvil. Once you have those you'll notice that you can break ores down into dust at the anvil. Each ore will give you 2 dust. Once you have your various dusts, open up your smelter and craft whatever bar you want at the cost of 1 dust instead of 2 ore!

If you would like to have support for ores added by other mods, leave a suggestion and I'll look into adding it!


The grinder and powder furnace have been removed. The anvil and vanilla smelter are used now in their place.

Yeah, I still play with this and FU by simply entering admin mode to get the minimum number of copper bars for the FU research aside from that being required, this does work with FU as far as I can tell. Iron can be crafted from ore or dust, making the same for copper would fix the only problem I've encountered.

As far as I can tell from actually playing with this FU and many other mods, either of those small changes would at the very least make the combination playable excluding mods that otherwise make copper ingots obtainable without needing to complete a research node that requires copper.

The problem is how much FU has changed the base game. It sounds easy in concept but if you have a look at FU's source code you'll see its not that simple.

I can think of 2 ways to (relatively) easily make it compatible with FU at the minimum level: 1) easiest I would guess, make copper ore smeltable again. 2) make a new crafting station for turning ore to dust before smelting

Im looking into a way to integrate it into FU's research but FU is a very complex mod and pretty confusing.

Oh it's not a serious problem, I just started playing the game again after a bit over a year long break only to find so much has changed, and lots of old mods I used no longer work together right anymore.

It's a bummer, but it won't kill me to live without it for awhile. I got a mod that sorta handily solves the same thing this one does by reducing late game bar grinding, and even supports FU materials, though i'm up in the air if I like that bit or not.

Anyway take care of yourself, and above all else. Be safe out there in the Iraq.

Yeah, I haven't really had a chance to make any changes as I am currently deployed in Iraq and time is in short supply. Sorry about that.
