Armed Zombies!

描述
TLDR:
Armed Zombies is a vanilla friendly mod that gives swords (and axes) to zombies and other melee enemies, giving you real sword combat in terraria! And even better, enemies can spawn with armor too, which you have to have to knock off to do more damage to them.

DESCRIPTION:
This mod transforms basic Terraria melee enemies into smart, sword fighting, armored opponents, introducing a challenging but still surface level sword fighting system. Enemies like zombies aren't so simple anymore, they now engage in sword and axe fighting with swinging, thrusting, charging and even deep survival instincts like running away in fear or healing when badly hurt (all configurable!!).

At the end of the day, this just adds swords to melee enemies, keeping the vanilla aspects of Terraria coooompletely intact while providing highly customizable and finally FUN melee combat.

FEATURES:

- Weapon Spawning: Enemies spawn ready for battle with either a broadsword or a heavy axe (axe spawns off by default).

- Thought Out Fighting: All attacks start with an optional attack windup delay, giving you a moment to react and dodge (or PARRY with a parry mod).

- Randomized Attacks: Enemies can chain multiple hits together, take a step back and go back in for more - who knows what they'll do 🤷‍♂️

- Enemy Distancing: Enemies with swords stay at a small distance away so both of you can stand ground and have a real sword fight.

- Weapon Physics (Optional): Weapons can use optional C# Spring-Mass Physics for realistic, heavy movement.

- Miss Penalties: If an enemy misses an attack, they incur a Miss Recovery penalty that slows down their next action.

- Armor System: Enemies can spawn with up to three pieces of Iron Armor (Helmet, Chainmail, Greaves), giving them extra defense. Armor blocks the first hit, but the piece can be knocked off and launched, reducing the enemy's defense.

- Parry & Riposte: Enemies with swords can block the player's attack (Parry) and immediately follow up with a powerful, damage-doubling counter-attack (Riposte). Just like real sword fights.

- Disarm & Flee: Enemies can be disarmed on critical or normal hits, sending their weapon flying. Losing their weapon can trigger Shock & Flee, making them panic and run away.

- Weapon Pickup: Disarmed enemies have a cooldown before they can try to pick up any nearby weapon.

- Pressure AI: Sword & Axefighting enemies can enter a "Pressure" state if you've been standing still in the fight, making them charge at you.

- Survival Healing (off by default): If their health is low, enemies may retreat, stop, and drink a Lesser Healing Potion. They may even take a moment to put on an Iron Chainmail if they are currently unarmored. Then they'll run back into the fight.

- Scared Behavior (also off by default): When under a certain amount of health, enemies may become scared, trying to keep their distance and only attempting attacks when they're feeling brave.

- Weapon List Whitelisting: A configuration option lets you specify custom or modded weapons that enemies can spawn with.

- Stagger (off by default): Taking a hit can briefly interrupt the enemy's attack preparation or swing cooldown.

Suggested Mods & Compatibility!

This mod works flawlessly with most mods, and is HIGHLY, HIGHLY suggested you pair it with:

- Parry, Deflect & Riposte Mod: To give players the same deep melee options as the enemies.
- Sword (And Spear) Swing Mod: For realistic player weapon handling. (has some exclusive content compatibility for this mod)
- Physaria: For realistic gore and physics-based ragdoll deaths.
- A good armor texture pack: To make the Iron Armor on the zombies and generally your terraria experience look nice.
- A good weapons and block texture pack (like Secrets of the Shadows & TerraEnhanced below it): To make the weapons on the zombies and once again generally your terraria experience look nice.

Customizable Settings!
Nearly - no, not nearly - EVERY single mechanic, including spawn chances, attack cooldowns, healing amounts, physics properties, and disarm chances... are adjustable via a massive (and good looking, organized) in-game mod config menu.

And just to repeat myself, the game will play completely vanilla with this mod, so dont worry about breaking how terraria feels :)

Check out the DLC for this mod, Immersive Armor!

@Hamsters this isn't a bug, this is the only way I could make zombies wear armor. I wanted to make them use the player wearing armor visuals but I couldn't replace elements of the zombie so I did my best and just added a bobbing item animation. this is the reason I suggested to get a good armour and general resource pack haha

I assume that there's an option to blacklist certain fighter AI enemies, right?

I've been wishing for a zombie mod like this, when I started playing the game.

is there any way that we can have this feature locked behind defeating a boss?

small bug but the zombies wearing armor display the armor as the inventory sprite instead of a player wearing sprite, not to big though just makes it look like the zombies are facing the screen lol :zombiehead:
