Two Palms Co. LTH-02B "Crosswind"

描述
Like riding on air.

There is no smoother ride than that of the new LIFTTECH™ Ground Effect Vehicle line from TWO PALMS.co. Combining rapid movement with near limitless overland and overwater transportation, there are very few obstacles these new vehicles can’t cross.

Introduced in the early 2000s, the LIFTTECH™ Tank Hunter, or LTH-02B, was a first-generation Hover Ground Effect Vehicle (HGEV) designed as a tank destroyer. Since it has no contact with the ground, it can pass terrain usually impassible to conventional vehicles. This made it an extremely valuable asset for nations with notoriously challenging terrain. However, this came with downsides, mainly the weather; in strong winds, these vehicles suffer severely as the wind overloads the stability controllers, making them nearly impossible to use. In light of these problems, many of the LTH-02Bs would be retired only a couple of years after their introduction, with the ISAF being the last force to maintain a division of the units for coastal patrol.

One of the notable additions this vehicle had was its Vehicle Analysis & Reporting Assistant or VARA (yes, I put Cortana in the tank, fight me about it). Since the LTH had a crew of just one, VARA would assist with damage reports and target acquisition to balance the workload for the pilot. The effectiveness of this system has yet to be thoroughly studied.

Features

I promise you I didn't intend for it to look like a STRV 103; it's just the evolutionary equivalent of the Crab.

  • Mini Fusion reactor for limitless energy (infinite power generator, I’m Lazy)
  • Heavy frontal armor for an improved survival chance
  • VARA, A small system that helps report damage and target data
  • Laser range finder for accurate shots up to 1.5-2 KM
  • External loader for rapid ammunition top-up
  • Multiple maintenance hatches for easy repair work
  • A very basic RADAR fire control mode

Controls

The controls for this cheese wedge are simple.

[W/S] Throttle
[A/D] Yaw
[U/D] Gun elevation
[L/R] Fine Traverse
[1] RANGE (hold to reset)
[2] ZOOM
[3] RAD
[4] IR MODE
[5] Cycle Breach
[6] Hatch/Turn In

startup

Use the ladder on the right side of the tank, climb up, and hit the button on the top of the hatch

Hop in the pilot's seat and hit [6] to turn in

Hit the key named “activate systems” to well.. Activate systems

Flip the switch to arm the ammo counter, and you're good to go

notes

VARAs auto targeting adds elevation onto the current elevation which means you need the gun level when engaging the system for it to target properly

As stated earlier, the hovertank tends to drift in heavy winds, so it's not advised.

The gun can get caught, if you “wiggle” it up and down a bit that tends to fix it; I'm not sure why

This things job it a Hover tank meant to function something similar to a M18, unfortunatley its just worse than a regular tank in every way.
