👷‍♂️ Operational Role

About the Patrick W The Patrick W is a compact harbor tug based in Valdez, Alaska, designed for cold-water operations and light-duty maneuvering. While it does not carry cargo, its hull form and propulsion layout are optimized for short-range pushing and docking assistance. However, due to its short length and high superstructure, the vessel is unstable in heavy weather and unsafe to operate aggressively in warm waters due to cooling limitations and hull stress.

📜 Build History & Notes
The Patrick W is a real harbor tug operating in Valdez Alaska. Its design reflects the constraints of cold-water operations and limited maneuvering space in Valdez harbor. While functional for light towing and harbor work.

⚠️ Stability Warning
Hull design is top-heavy and prone to roll in rough seas. Avoid high-speed turns or pushing against large vessels in heavy weather. Do not operate in warm waters—engine cooling may be compromised. Recommended for cold-water harbor use only.
