• Firefly pops when you finally step into Lightkeeper’s lighthouse room on Lighthouse as a PMC after unlocking access to him and talking to him.
  
• Expect a long late game grind: hit roughly level 35, push Scav karma to 2, clear the prerequisite trader tasks, then finish Mechanic’s Lightkeeper chain from Network Provider up through Getting Acquainted.
  
• Use your Hideout to craft key FIR electronics, learn Lighthouse, Woods, Labs and Lighthouse peninsula routes, then carry the Digital secure DSP radio transmitter when you cross the bridge to meet Lightkeeper for the first time.

And Firefly is simple on paper. The game only checks if you, as a PMC, have actually reached Lightkeeper in the Lighthouse building on the Lighthouse map and spoken to him while you have his transmitter active. Once you climb up into his room and let the conversation play out, the Firefly achievement pops and his trader line opens.

But getting to that point is late wipe stuff. Lightkeeper sits behind a wall of mid and late game quests, decent trader progression, and Scav karma, so expect to be around level 35 with roughly 2 Scav karma and most mainline chains for Mechanic, Skier, Jaeger and the others already pushed deep. That is what unlocks Mechanic’s Lightkeeper path, starting with Network Provider and then flowing into the Assessment quests.

Network Provider has you first farm a stack of found in raid electronics for Mechanic, then place radio repeaters at key spots around Lighthouse so he can talk to the peninsula. After that, the Assessment trio checks if you can handle PvP near the Lighthouse peninsula, do a clean Woods run where you mark bunkers with MS2000 markers, and then survive Labs while killing Raiders and bringing out specific combat stims. It is all about proving you know these maps well enough, not about one flashy task.

Key to the Tower, Knock-Knock and Getting Acquainted form the last stretch. You gather special radio components, including a unique radio transmitter body from Lighthouse, then Mechanic hands you the Digital secure DSP radio transmitter and makes you test it near the peninsula bridge. Getting Acquainted sends you to the rogue-controlled water treatment plant to grab the Secure Flash drive V3, reflash the transmitter in your Hideout’s Intelligence Center, and then finally cross the mined bridge to the lighthouse itself. Do not touch Zryachiy during this quest, reach Lightkeeper’s room with the powered transmitter, talk to him properly, and Firefly is yours.
