TLDR
  • You need to eliminate all thirteen bosses in Escape From Tarkov at least once as a PMC to unlock the Long Live the King! achievement.

  • Each boss has different spawn locations, behaviors, and difficulty levels ranging from solo rushdown threats like Tagilla to heavily guarded squad leaders like Glukhar.

  • We're actively working on detailed individual boss guides and will update the More Guides section below as they're completed.
How to Get the Long Live the King! Achievement in Escape From Tarkov
NOTE: We're currently developing comprehensive guides for each individual boss. Check back soon for detailed walkthroughs on spawn locations, loadout recommendations, and kill strategies. The More Guides section at the bottom will be updated as each guide goes live.

The current boss roster includes Reshala, Killa, Shturman, Glukhar, Sanitar, Tagilla, Kaban, Kollontay, Zryachiy, and the three-member Rogue boss squad consisting of Knight, Big Pipe, and Birdeye. There's also Partisan, who functions differently from the others.

Start with the easier targets if you're methodical about this. Reshala on Customs is probably your first real boss encounter if you've been playing naturally. He spawns at Dorms, the construction site, or new gas station with four guards. He carries a unique Golden TT pistol that's actually required for a quest, so killing him serves double duty.

Shturman camps the Lumber Mill on Woods with two guards and exceptional long-range accuracy. He's valued primarily for his key, which unlocks a stash that can contain absurdly expensive items like the Red Rebel ice pick. Taking him from distance is smarter than pushing into the Mill's exposed interior where his guards can pin you down.

Killa roams Interchange and fights alone, which sounds easier until you realize he can tank ridiculous amounts of damage. Tagilla stalks Factory with a sledgehammer and wears a welding mask that can actually deflect high-penetration rounds. Both of these solo bosses are unpredictable. They don't have set spawn points, so running into them often comes down to luck and map knowledge.

Then you've got the squad-based nightmares. Glukhar brings five to six heavily armed guards depending on whether he spawns on Reserve or Streets of Tarkov, and he's equipped with an ASh-12 that hits like a freight train. His guards rotate between aggressive pushes and defensive formations with snipers and flankers. Most experienced players will tell you to just avoid him unless you absolutely need the kill for progression.

Sanitar operates on Shoreline with three guards using callsigns, and he's got medical expertise that shows in his loot pool. Kaban is the tankiest boss in the game, wearing absurd armor values and wielding a belt-fed RPK that can suppress entire squads while he soaks magazine after magazine. He spawns at the LexOs car dealership on Streets with guards that include Gus and Basmach, who will aggressively push your last known position.

Kollontay is one of the newer additions to the boss roster. Zryachiy is unique because he's the only boss with a 100% spawn chance. He's a sniper who guards the Lighthouse bridge with two respawning guards. He stays passive unless you try crossing into restricted territory, at which point his extreme accuracy becomes a problem.

The Rogue trio of Knight, Big Pipe, and Birdeye operate as a coordinated unit with meta weapons and lethal long-range capabilities. Their squad synergy and vision range make them especially dangerous in open terrain. Knight has a unique mask and plate carrier, Birdeye carries a unique frame system and chest rig, and Big Pipe wields a unique grenade launcher along with some cosmetics.

Partisan is the wildcard. He doesn't spawn like other bosses. Instead, he appears dynamically during raids if your PMC karma is low, then proceeds to make your life difficult with booby traps and ambushes before engaging directly.

The achievement doesn't require you to kill them all in one raid or even one wipe. Progress persists across wipes, which is why many long-term players unlock this naturally over time. But if you're grinding it intentionally, prioritize the bosses with more predictable spawns first. Learn their patterns, bring appropriate ammo for their armor, and consider running with a squad since several of these encounters are brutal solo.

Getting all thirteen kills will happen eventually if you're actively playing. The real challenge isn't mechanical skill. It's patience and map knowledge. You need to know spawn points, understand AI behavior patterns, and have the loadout to actually finish the fight when you find them.
