Beskrivning

What:
Reduces the playable area to the Hegemony of China and the empires of Japan, Goryeo, Andong, and Amur.


Why:
Lag reduction. I'd like to play without the bloat of tens of thousands of characters in far flung realms with which I'll never interact. The smaller map mods in the workshop are still too broad or went a little too narrow for tastes, so I made my own.


Notable Changes:
  • Most regions have been made impassable. The titles and characters from those regions have been removed.
  • Only characters within playable bounds will appear in the bookmarks.
  • The kingdom of Ruucuu is now a part of Japan.
  • The kingdom of Liuqiu is now a part Jingyang.
  • Disabled the Silk Road, there was only 1 functional location out of 6.


Known Bugs and Issues:
  • The Amis of Liuqiu keep getting their island stolen by the Emperor from the start. They should be independent like the Ryukyuan of Ruucuu.
  • Things are a bit funky in the kingdom of Viet. Some characters are premade, some are random.
  • Everything else seems stable and there were no crashes during testing, which consisted of running the game for 50+ years at each starting date a bunch of times.


Incompatibilities:
  • Not compatible with anything that changes 00_landed_titles.txt or provinces.png.

Ah, woops. I mixed up some files with ones from the SEA map. Should be OK now. Juggling too many, probably.

No matter what era I'm playing, I can't play the South Korea region (Silla, Goryeo). It just disappears.

I disabled the DLC requirement flags for the bookmarks so no one else should run into the problem that eromaa encountered.

I could see them properly when I had all DLCs disabled.

No idea what would cause that, for now. I didn't touch diseases at all. I looked at some files related to the Black Death but couldn't determine a reason for its behavior to change.

best mod for the new DLC but there's a bug: the black death keeps existing again and again even the county was just survived from the black plague (the setting is random spawn but once only). It long last at least a decade in my game with 4k death :summer2019tortoise:

Okay. I see what's wrong. As stated in the Notable Changes, I removed bookmarks that you can't play anymore due to the geographical scope, so you don't choose someone that no long exists in the game. That basically means only the All Under Heaven and Nomad bookmarks are available.

And since you don't have the DLC, you don't see the bookmarks at all.

Here's how to fix it on your end:
- Open the launcher and go to the Mod library.
- Click the ellipses next to this mod (...) and select "Show in folder."
- Go into the "common" folder and delete the "bookmarks" folder in there.

This will restore the bookmarks to the default and you'll be able to select the other years again. Don't worry about choosing a bookmark character, it will function exactly like hitting the "Play as any Ruler" button.

I hadn't considered that people would use this mod without the DLC. Sorry.

i'm not sure it may be because i don't have the all under heaven dlc, but when choosing a start date i can pick 1066 or 1178 but i will stay in 867. i mean it works all good just stuck in 867 lol

How do you mean? There's no tab at the top for the years when starting a new game?

Not sure why that would be happening to you. I can see them and start them on my end.

i'm not sure if this a glitch just for me, but i did turn off all my mods and tried out this mod and the other asia mod you have, and i'm stuck in 867 can't start in 1066 or 1178.
