Cult of Blood, an Elder Scrolls Style Vampirism Mod

描述
Inspired by the likes of the Drow Challenge, as well as the recurring disease found in several of the Elder Scrolls games, Cult of Blood allows you to become a creature of the night! Whereas the Drow cannot even traverse the surface, Vampires can do so safely during the night or through the aid of Blood Vials.

To become a vampire, you must first contract the sanguine disease, Porphyric Hemophilia, this can be done in the following ways:
- Bats have a small chance of affliction, while vampires of course are guaranteed
- Macerating most warmblooded critters at an anvil will yield Blood Vials (Blood Moon enemies are also an excellent source), which give greatly improved life regeneration but have a small chance to inflict Porphyric Hemophilia

Porphyric Hemophilia disables natural life regen, but doesn't completely stop life regen unlike bleeding or the like. It lasts for 5 minutes (1 minute via Blood Vials) and if allowed to expire, you will become a vampire!

If for some reason you don't want to become a vampire, you can have the Nurse treat you before it's too late (she cannot cure you if you've already turned), or alternatively you can consume Purgeblood Salts bought from the Witch Doctor even as a vampire. Beware, these methods are not cheap!

As a vampire, you gain the following boons:
Increased damage and defense while underground or during the night, especially during a blood moon or an eclipse
You take the life of slain enemies, true melee kills restore more health
Blood Vials provide a much stronger regeneration effect than before
You become immune to most sickness related debuffs

However, you also suffer from the following:
You are blinded and burn when exposed to daylight, intensity increasing as the sun rises
You take triple damage from holy things, and you cannot wield holy items yourself (You can tell if an item is holy if you burn with bright flames while holding it)
Healing potions are much less effective, restoring half the usual health
Shop prices are 20% worse, and Purgeblood Salts are especially expensive

All in all, vampirism is a powerful affliction with considerable drawbacks, allowing for a unique playstyle.

I'm glad to see that my comment was able to help and inspire change!
And i'm glad to continue giving my opinions and suggestions going forwards.

Had a playthrough with the newest patch, and it's definitely much nicer than before. the blindness immunity in rain and thunderstorms and lower sunlight damage is a welcoming change, though it's a little too lenient in my opinion for later game.
I can definitely understand why you wouldn't want to make the umbrella give sunlight immunity, it'd remove the purpose of blood vials.
If you want my personal opinion, I think the blindness aspect of sunlight exposure should be removed, or at least tweaked to where it's applied to you after a certain health pull is reached (maybe <50%?). It's an annoyance rather than a challenge. And to compensate, make the damage of sunlight exposure scale over time as the player progresses through the game? That way it's a constant threat for the player to look out for throughout their entire playthrough.

That is a client feature of Fargo's Mutant Mod and HP Awareness, check their configs and disable the Debuff Tray/Popups.

One of the immediat issue i have right now is the vampire effect above the player head, it's annoying, any idea who to remove it? Or is it a mod bug ?

A lots of potentials, it's been a long time since i was waiting for a vampirism mod, please don't drop it, you can ask other modder if you need help, the potentail is a total overhaul of the game. And i don't see why it would be incompatible with any mod ! (well maybe other dimension mods)

at first i thought this was a modjam submission. but then read the description.
