描述
Still simple but more realistic car part installation / unistallation procedures:
  1. The success rate is fixed at 95% with significantly increased work time which is reduced by the Mechanics level. As a mechanic myself I found the PZ vanilla lottery approach infuriating. Apprentice may work slower but if they follow the manual everything is usually fine.
  2. Fasteners - part installation requires consumables now. They are recovered upon unistallation (unless rusted or broken otherwise; chance can be tuned in Sandbox options). New items can be also found along with Nuts and Bolts.
    • Nuts and Bolts - used almost everywhere (a default option for any unspecified part)
    • Screws - for articulated windows
    • Heavy Duty Bolts (new) - for mounting Crankshafts and Cylinder Heads (Project Summer Car)
    • Exhaust Clamps (new) - for fitting a muffler
    • Lug Nuts (new) - to attach wheels
    • Windshield Adhesive (new) - to glue windshields and rear windows in place - can't be recovered.
  3. Uninstalled parts are dropped on the floor instantly. Again I don't see a reason why would you keep a wheel or a door in your inventory unless you're moving it somewhere.

PSC compatibility only supported for 42.12 for now
All of that is supported for Project Summer Car engine if it's installed. Plus, I've changed the part selection so it's no longer inventory only.

do ignition coils typically have nuts and bolts on them? I thought they were just regular wire connectors.

@SudoCerinthe it's not them but their imaginary distributor or imaginary ignition coils :bandit: (well, jokes aside I'll address that and filters bolts requirements in the next update)

why do spark plugs require nuts and bolts?

@Bass but that's not how it works... Usually there are a lot of specialized fasteners (like non-standard threaded bolts) in each car which you can't find even if fully stocked hardware store if it isn't a spare parts warehouse. That's the kind of pain I have to deal with as a mechanic and I wanted to inflict it on others =) Yes there are sometimes prepacked "repair kits" (with bolts, nuts, washers, bearings, seals and gaskets) for particular parts or assemblies though I'd need to think how to translate it into game experience.

I know you’ve put your soul into this mod — my intention isn’t to hurt, but to share the real feeling I get. Maybe a portable car kit with limited uses could help? You could list in the description what it includes (bolts, clamps, nuts, etc.). It would make scavenging missions less punishing since you’d carry fewer items.

@Bass have you tried to increase the return chance in the sandbox options? 95% return rate should be bearable.

Ya nuts and bolts for an oil filter is odd too haha. Either way, have a lot of those laying around
