This requires the A Game of Thrones mod to function!

Do you like playing as the Lords of the Tides? Do you think the Old, the True, the Brave, the blood of Old Valyria, and the illustrious cousins of a family of inbreeding pyromaniacs with a ferocious three-headed dragon for a sigil, is too good to be using the humble seahorse for a banner? Well, do I have the submod for you!

This mod replaces the default sigil of House Velaryon from a boring anatomically-correct (and lore accurate) seahorse, to a fearsome heraldic seahorse[en.wikipedia.org].

Along with the sigil for House Velaryon, the new design has also been applied to the sigil of House Longwaters and and the personal sigil that can be assigned to members of House Velaryon who convert to R'hllor. A new Velaryon dynasty legacy icon has also been added.

The original seahorse design and the original, unmodified sigil of House Longwaters remain in the roster of available crownlands COA elements for those who still wish to use them with other designs.

Save compatibility

This mod is compatible with pre-existing saves, though the sigil will likely be slightly off-centre due to the different size/shape and the fact your old save file will still be configured to the old design.

To fix this issue, simply copy the following code to your clipboard, open the in-game coat of arms editor for the Velaryon dynasty (NOT the house) and paste this in there:

@rony419 - I agree. I was just playing up the seahorse-bashing for laughs. I have no beef with the lore-accurate design, it's just personal preference.

@n_mckeown The thing is, in canon they came to Driftmark (and the Celtigars to Claw Isle most likely too) way before the Targs to Dragonstone just before the doom, so at that point they were random Valyrian seaferers with no dragons and def not one of the last Valyrian families.

While the show based Seahorse is very nice, I don't find the anatomically correct, lore accurate Seahorse model boring at all tbh. The sigil design they went with is very cute and aesthetically pleasing imo.
