This mod is WIP. The lore is WIP, the sprites are WIP, the spells and stats and everything is WIP. Even the description is a mere squint into the vision that I hold for this nation.
It is a werewolf themed mod balanced around a powerful human sacred, much like the Warden of Man, except it has a second armored werewolf form. However, if these sacred units step foot outside their dominion, they dont have long before they transform into horrible beasts no longer under your control.

====LORE

(Steam censors the b-word. I shall refer to the b-word Queen pretender as Caehin because that is her name.)

The story follows a unique Female Dog Queen (Only pretender option) who used to rule the kingdom of Man. During her rule, she birthed many sons and these were the Wardens of Avalon. They shared her traits, physically gifted by their right as being borne from godliness. In her exile, she came across the quiet city Yharnam. Caehin needed a kingdom to rule, and she would start here. Gathering her sons, she forged the populace into subservience and they soon would come to worship her, intimidated by her Wardens and their might.
Yharnam did not prosper under her rule, but it did not fall to ruin either. Eventually, the land began to change. Beasts became more aggravated, and the nights turned longer. It was no rumor that men would fall under fever and one day transform into a monster to devour his family and neighbors.
And so the Blood Curse it was named, but who named it was unimportant. It could have been one of the many victims, or one of the many doctors who roam, documenting the afflicted and their symptoms. Searching for a cure. Some believed it was Caehin's doing, but that was regarded as blasphemy.
Inexplicable as it was, Caehin's dominion turns men into Beasts. Her very own sons, with the seed of lycanthropy planted within them when created, would suffer the curse as well. The wise Queen knew this, and was an apt enchantress. She weaved an enchantment to suppress their curse, and applied it to the new armor these Wardens don. As long as they do not remove it, they shall be safe.
However, the enchantment only has it's power under Caehin's dominion. If a Warden steps outside of it, he will quickly go mad and start eating any human flesh he can find. If the curse is fed enough, the Warden will irreversibly transform into a monstrous werewolf, a manifestation of the curse. He will lose his mind and allegiance, and prey upon the innocent and unwary.

=========MECHANICS

There is only one pretender option available to you. It is a rainbow pretender or whatever so taking multiple paths and a strong bless is ideal. The pretender domsummons Wardens, the sacred unit, every turn. Currently that is the only way to get them.

Your werewolf non-sacred unit is the Yharnamite Swordsman. They require a chaplain, fort, and temple in the province. Chaplains can summon 1 per month for free. Currently, they have a 50 percent chance to transform into their werewolf form when killed. This chance, along with their skills and gear, will become greater as they gain more xp.

Most of your military is weak. Yharnam was hardly militarized and had little industry before Caehin came to power. Your Wardens are meant to secure your land and defend it early-mid game while you build up proper forces and infrastructure.

=========THE BLOOD CURSE

The enchantments Caehin puts on the Warden's armor weakens when they step outside of her dominion. The wardens will begin to eat corpses and gain hitpoints. If they gain enough, which usually takes about 3-4 turns of constant corpses, the Blood Curse within them will take hold and they will be irreversibly transformed into monsters. These monsters are insane and will not listen to orders.

If the Wardens step back into Caehin's dominion, they turn back to normal, given they havent succumbed to the blood curse. The hitpoints gained will not carry over inside dominion, but the curse still lingers within the wardens and the progress towards giving in to the Curse only slowly decreases in dominion as time passes.

When inside dominion, Wardens can transform into their werewolf forms and they will remain armored. However, if a Warden turns into a werewolf while outside of Caehin's dominion, the Curse will immediately take over. This most often happens from a Warden dying and thus being forced to change shape.

Most Blood-Cursed Beasts kill population and cause unrest in the province they are in, regardless of allegiance. However, the beasts are not hostile to the Queen's forces. You may experiment to see which of Caehin's sons turn into what and how they could be of use. Some are more useful with their minds broken.

Spearman - cheap weak spearman
Longspear - slightly weaker longspear
Conscript Longbowman - Unarmored weak longbowman
Yharnamite Swordsman - skinshifter shock infantry that gains veterance, gaining better equipment and skills. Begins at 50% transformation chance and gains 25% each veterancy level. They require a fort, temple, and chaplain in the province for recruitment.
Wolf Guard - Heavily armored high morale fort defenders
Wolf Guard Polearm - Heavily armored high morale fort defender with 2H weapon

-----------COMMANDER OVERVIEW
Nation begins with it's hero warden commander.
Warden Commander - stealthy heavily armored skinshifter sacred priest
Wolfherd - Foreign scout unit who can summon wolves
Wolf Guard Captain - Staple commander
Chaplain - T2 priest. Required for recruiting Yharnamite Swordsmen. Can summon Yharnamite Swordsmen for free. Turns into Chaplain Beast when left outside of dominion.
Sorceress - N1 G1 plain mage.
Wyrd Witch - Cap only N2 G1 D1 OR N2 G2 mage, both with B1 or B2. Spellsinger. Cannot blood search.
Doctor - Foreign lab recruit, B1. Cannot cast vanilla blood spells except for Leeching Touch. Has early unique healing spell under Blood magic.

----------BLOOD-CURSED BEASTS OVERVIEW
Blood-Cursed Beast - Regular Warden form. No armor, prot 10 sacred stronger werewolf.
Large Blood-Cursed Beast - Warden commander form. Very hard to kill, requires dedicated force.
Chaplain Beast - Best mage. H3. N3 B3/B4 G3.
Keeper Taciturn - Hero unit form. Strong combatant, doesent kill pops but is insane.

@EthanFromTexas you mean monster 8021? It doesent crash my game but I changed some things that might fix your problem.

My game crashes when I start a new map and it gives me the error message: "monster 8201 has an illegal shape." No other mods installed or anything.
