Less forced combat and drama

描述
This is a small, experimental mod that slightly tweaks the vanilla story preamble and action prompts in the hopes of discouraging the AI from forcing constant conflict, drama, ambushes, monster attacks, combat and epic plots on the player. These changes may come at a cost of making the writing a little more bland and less immersive/descriptive, I'm not sure. It also includes a small measure intended to prevent every character from knowing your name and identity without reason, as I believe this to be another potential source of unwarranted conflict. This mod doesn't touch quests, so they will likely still introduce excessive conflict, betrayals, drama, twists, and more; use a different mod to fix that or avoid quests.

Since it's mostly experimental I'd like to hear feedback, if any changes turn out beneficial here then I could recommend them to the developer so new users don't have to suffer the forced conflict as much either. I admittedly only briefly tested this, it's not to use myself, so if it causes any issues please let me know.

The mod doesn't make any large changes or additions like many of the other bigger mods (e.g. Reactive Realms or Lodactio's mod), only small tweaks to phrasing. However, it probably isn't compatible with those mods due to changing the main story preamble.

Image lazily generated by chatgpt because I didn't know what to use.

The dev themselves recently made some changes towards this on alpha, so I recommend trying those to give feedback on it if you're on the alpha version. Once that reaches the main branch I'll trying adding them to this too and see if it helps. May have the side effect of making the AI less "creative" and events more "predictable", however the random forced combat and conflicts are kind of predictably "unpredictable" anyway...

@Furoggu it's subtle but I think it may well just be one part of a system of nudges made to the AI. I have my own stuff located in other parts of the prompt that could be messing with it.

@Wahfulls11 Try this, I uploaded the tweaked check that I use: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3587610419

If it doesn't work I can try making a stricter version, but it works for me on the unofficial models I use. Usually from very minor things I either don't take damage or lose 1 hp. I haven't taken damage from ridiculous things like someone glaring daggers at me for a long time either.

Next you need to make some mod that prevents the ai from dealing, 15 damage when your character stubs your toe causing you to die.

I'm glad to hear it works for you, I heard from two others that it made no difference.

Now that this has been around for a little bit, has anyone else noticed any significant difference when using it? I have an idea for another change that could be more impactful, but I'm curious whether any of these changes do much before I add more. Plus I want to avoid making too many changes that might go a little beyond the scope of the mod if I don't have to.

I'm a little mad I didn't do this myself. I've just been using the extra player lore box for this kind of instruction. Seems to work.
