IMPORTANT!!! LIKELY TO CRASH IF YOU ARE NOT ON VERSION 1.54 or HIGHER
This is due to the new Finnish units that were added and they are in use in this mod.

WELCOME TO FORT SLAVA

Early January, 1942. The German advance was not halted or even slowed by the harsh weather conditions like we had anticipated. 13 Kilometres is all that separates us from Moscow. We must not let them breakthrough! As long as 'Fort Slava' remains standing, the Germans wont set foot in Moscow. Retreat is not an option comrade.

HOW TO ACTIVATE AND PLAY MY MAP

Step 1. Subscribe to my MOD and wait for the download to finish.
Step 2. Launch GoH
Step 3. Locate my MOD in the Extras menu.
Step 4. Activate my MOD and hit apply at the bottom of the list.
Step 5. Navigate to 'Multiplayer' then 'Skirmishes' then 'Local skirmishes' select the 'Last stand' mode and browse through the map list and they will be there. Enjoy!

WHAT COMES WITH THIS MOD?

11 Versions of the map including:

Russia As Defenders (Dusk or Night Storm)
Germany As Defenders (Blizzard Or Evening)
Finnish As Defenders (Snow or Night Storm)
USA As Defenders (Snow or Night)
Empty Map version that removes all cannons and vehicles

Added 2 new extended map versions for the Germans as request.

(I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using MACE with my maps as this mod adds and insane amount of high quality new tanks and troops to use or face against including the MAUS, if you want to enjoy all the vehicles this mod offers you can use the MACE spawn menu alongside it)

(This enables you to spawn in any unit you want for free, granted its a cheat menu and some people like the challenge but for those times when you want to watch war happen this is perfect)

HOW TO ADD THE SPAWN MENU TO MY MAPS

This tutorial also applies for the [MACE] Spawn menu.
Step 1. Copy this line of code: (include "/map/cheat/cheat.mi")

Step 2. Locate my map folder by following this path: Program files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > workshop > content (you may see one or many different numbered folders here and in the next folder, in my case the GoH folder is Numbered 400750 but it may be different for you so look through them if that's the case) after opening one of them you will find more numbered folders simply browse each one till you find the one that leads to my map. in one of these you should find this path: resource > map > multi > slava_(select the versions you want) .

Step 3. Refer to the last 4 images on this mod page for reference. Open the highlighted file in notepad, hit enter at the start of the second line of text to space it out and in its place copy and paste the text from STEP 1 and save the file! All done. Please note the map will crash if this code is present and you decide to deactivate the spawn menu mod so you will need to go back and remove the added code and save.

You can utilise spawn menu on my map now and this tutorial goes for ANY custom map to be compatible with spawn menu by Rosemi (NOTE IF YOU WANT TO OPEN MY MAP IN THE EDITOR YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THIS LINE OF TEXT AS IT CAUSES INSTANT CRASHES ON ANY MAP OPENED IN THE EDITOR at least for me it does)

HOW TO UTILISE THE PLANES

The planes are buggy and may sometimes fly nose down into the ground by themselves for no reason. Just make sure to direct the plane forward as straightly as possible and direct control and fly up using [S] This is the default control and [W] is to pitch the plane down.

ANY FUTURE MAPS PLANNED?

YES! But for now i need a break, tons of new games are out and soon to be out that i wanna play. i Have another snow map planned that i have yet to start but i really would like the next DLC to be out as i want to build it using those new assets so i will wait till that comes out and then i will begin to work on the next big project.

CAN YOU USE MY MAPS FOR YOUR OWN MODS/MISSIONS?

YES.

@Surge Brass yeah the ai just does that idk why and i dont think i can do anything during the map making process to make them behave differently.

Got the 155 working. One other quibble I just recalled after starting another match - if you play with AI on your team, they all gather around the HQ position, which wouldn't be so bad if literally EVERY UNIT they spawned didn't go there. This creates a huge and very laggy spot on the map.

@Surge Brass im glad you enjoyed the map, i try to one up myself with map design from my previous works and i think this will show in my next map that im currently working on :steammocking: (it will be done sometime within the next 3-4 weeks)

As for the 155mm gun position i cant add a door on the back because of the two 5cm bunkers right behind it that are actually 1 big connected bunker that i blocked off the middle with mountains. easiest way is to direct control a few soldiers behind the gun and they will seat it better

God damn was this hella fun. I didn't use the planes, but the design of the map is brilliant. Love the defense layers and fortifications, especially the pre-existing vehicles and guns. It made defense a blast since I could get way more bang for my buck with infantry crewing both, while still having enough points to get actual units in.

My only complaints are that the AI pathfinding bugs out with the 155mm gun position next to the 5cm one (I think a door to the gun like the 5cm has would be a good idea), and that the train cannon can't be restocked with ammo. The same is true of it on the other map with it on the Workshop (The Sevastopol one), and the guy who made it said it was due to an ammo update or something like that when I posted about it in that map's comments.

Overall though, a legit phenomenal map. Extremely fun and rewarding. An 8v8 is laggy but legit feels like a last stand against a massive enemy force.

@Hetzer im planning on making a D-DAY map but it wont come out till january or february because i want the British DLC to come out first since it will include new fortifications etc. i doubt i can do an underground fortress as i already have a backlog of maps i want to make. currently working on a massive german defensive trench line and it will be my 2nd biggest map i think

@Varlun that unit doesnt work properly in the last stand mode or any MP mode unfortunately
