OPV Cheetah MK.2 (IMPROVED) (100% CREDIT TO SPIDER)

描述
100% CREDIT GOES TO SPIDER WHO IS THE ORIGINAL MAKER OF THIS BUILD

This is practically just an improved version of spiders OPV Cheetah MK.1

Top Speed - 40 knots (without high speed mode)
Top Speed - 50 knots (with high speed mode)
Top speed - 100 knots (with high speed mode + inf fuel)

WARNING: When traveling at around 80+ knots, rough waves can seriously impact the stability of the ship causing unstable bobbing in and out of the water plus rapid speed changes.

Improvements Ive made will be listed below

FIX FOR HIGH SPEED MODE

So according to the logic in order for the high speed button to actually work the ship has to be going over 35 knots by default. Due to changes to the water jets it cannot reach this speed anymore. To fix this all you have to do is turn down the threshold from 35 to around 26 in the micro controller for the engines. you can find this controller in the ship if you go to the gearboxes near the water jets and trace where the gearbox switch signal comes from. For further reference the controller is located on the right side of the ship in front of all the engines at the bottom. The name of this controller is "Cheetah PID Engine Controls x8 v1" From there select the controller and edit its logic, the threshold is at the very front part of all the logic.

FIX FOR FLARE LAUNCHING

So as for the flare launching on spawn there are two ways to fix this. The first and easiest way to fix it is simply remove the flare and replace it with something like a block. The second but harder way is to fix the logic itself which really isnt that hard if you know anything about logic. All you have to do is find the flare launcher micro controller and edit the logic. The controller is located inside the base of the mast on top of the ship. Once you are in the controllers logic, locate the 16 threshold's for all the flares. Now to fix the issue you have to delete the top threshold and move every other one up by 3 spaces to fill in the deleted ones position. After this add another threshold at the very bottom to fill in the missing gap and make the threshold have a low of 16 and high of 16. Then hook up the new threshold gate to the Up/Down Counter. After all of this just rewire all the On/Off signals so that they are straight so it looks exactly how it looked like at the start. The final step is to edit the Up/Down Counter so that the Max value and the Reset value are BOTH 17.

IMPORTANT: A small quirk to this fix is the number display will always show that you have one extra flare than you actually do. This is a pretty small error and can be ignored but i will show how to fix it. So to fix this just add a simple 1 value function and Find the signal from the Up/Down Counter to the two other Functions. Reroute this signal so that it goes through the one function block and out to the other 2 functions that were already there.

FIX FOR RHIB

Im not going to explain this but basically i basically just re did the entire engine control system and even improved it to a 4 cylinder engine.

MINOR
Ive made a lot of minor modifications and im not going to list them all but they are there to improve quality of life while using this ship.

An EVEN FASTER version of this build is in the works

That is amazing, great improvements!!!

Well i have increased the rps cap and improved the engine air intake and exhaust output so it is 40 Knots by default and 50 Knots with high speed mode.

Well, you could increase the gear ratio but it would get to the point where the engine would be able to deliver that much rps. However the engine's rps is capped and there probably is a way to increase it but it is incredibly complicated due to the engine controlling system.

Ah okay, so the gear ratio change doesn't help things? Curious if the engines could be swapped for some other kinds that people have made that maybe could be more efficient or more powerful without a huge space increase.

You know it would be cool but unfortunately you cannot go much faster without adding more engines and that would get pretty difficult but hey i might try it.

It's cool to see someone try to get these ships back and going. These are the first real nice ships I used when I started playing Stormworks, and if the updates didn't break a lot of them, they would still be my go-to ships. It's nice to see one of them getting fixed.

I wonder if in addition to the high speed fix, you could implement a speed fix I saw mentioned in the original creation which says: "However, if you set the gear ratio connected to the water jet to the highest setting (3:1) both on and off, the speed will return to a level that allows you to outrun the Megalodon, although not as fast as before."
