The Torment Nexus

The Torment Nexus. Assuredly, that's not what the hoomans called it. But nonetheless, they built it: a giant water purification machine, designed to sustain their lives should the worst come to pass, albeit polluting the surroundings in the process (as was their way). It failed.

And yet, it still works, most of the time, and with caution, careful management and a little beaver ingenuity, perhaps it can be made to fulfill its ancient function...

Tips: Keep your population in check. Blocking even one of the badwater outlets will ultimately break the machine. You're going to have to sacrifice at least one surface channel during badtides; think carefully about which one(s). The Nexus *can* be fixed to stop producing badwater, but you'll have to plan carefully and work quickly if you want to make an attempt.

Advanced tips: The original design included a reservoir in case of downtime; if you fix the machinery and add the right infrastructure, you could make use of it.
