Akademik Legasov Villa

My interpretation of a two-apartment (duplex) villa built in Moscow by orders of the Kurchatov Institute to house senior staff and management. This was the residence of Professor Valery Legasov, best known for his role in planning the liquidation efforts following the Chernobyl disaster. Built in 1950 in the Stalinist architectural tradition, the villa represented somewhat premium housing for the Legasov family - standing in stark contrast to the modest living conditions and family situation of Mr. Legasov as depicted in the HBO series Chernobyl.

The in-game version differs from the real building in several respects, such as the building's height and the design of the balcony above the entrance. The model is also based on photographs taken from a single angle, which inevitably limits accuracy. I might add another version later, with cladded walls.
