Nowheraki Army

描述
Inspired by the success of Nowheraki's native SWAT teams taking the fight to the insurgency wracking the nation, the fledgling Nowheraki National Army has established an urban warfare and counter insurgency unit.

Like their brothers in the SWAT units they're poorly equipped and barely trained but the Nowheraki Army have hand picked the staunchest men they could find in the Nowheraki Army and the unit will be backed by the Coalition in the form of training and equipment if they can prove themselves.

The squad has access to four units:

The Sergeant - The beating heart of the squad provides leadership and tends to get access to the best gear.

Riflemen - The bulk of the troops available are the versatile riflemen, able to equip rifles or LMGs.

Breacher - These are the men most trusted (or brave enough) to take responsibility for explosive entry duties.

Marksmen - The Nowheraki Army isn't known for it's accuracy but there are a couple of lads who can shoot.

These guys should play something like the Rangers (though much worse...), unlike the SWAT squad they don't start with untrained attack types so aren't quite as poor off the bat but they should still provide a decent challenge. They gain doctrine points at a rate somewhere in between the Ranger and SWAT squads and the doctrine tree should enable you to invest in training and abilities to make the squad more successful over time.

A thank you to Chad di Urbino for sharing the PASGT and ACH helmets that's the Nowheraki Army use in this mod.

Any feedback about balance or bugs more than welcome.

FEATURES

  • Designed to fit in closely with the existing squads in game, will play somewhat similar to SWAT level Rangers.

  • Ranks based on experience so as not to undermine the Sergeant.

  • Armoury featuring variety of weapons including what you'd expect in Nowheraki and the option to outfit your squad with US rifles down the line.

  • Custom Doctrine tree based on training to evolve your squad into an effective unit.

  • Compatible with the In-game Camo Selector mod.

  • Additional tier of AK weapons (AK-74M, RPK-74M along with existing AKS-74U) using 545x39mm ammo.

Do you plan on adding the G3 to the unit now that SWAT has it with the recent update? I feel like the G3 would really fit the armys style (And also I think the G3 is cool)

A couple of quick comments as I am part way playing through the campaigns with this formation. SAPI Front/Back is not a mobility down except for snipers is it a function of all added gear weight or something? When you suppress the M4 or M4 grenade launcher it doesn't tell us the sound radius. Why does the High Cut Helmet block less damage than Low Cut? Do the riflemen not have an AK version with a suppressor is that more just a fairy floss request? Lastly, why does the marksmen not have an AK or something a little lighter to help get them experience this is the least consequential of the above points.

Lastly the largest campaign mission day in the game requires 18 bodies to not double deploy someone. 17 is still pretty solid though.

I do appreciate the 20 Doctrine points. I love bolt cutters.

I always feel grenade starved while playing these guys. Would you consider large slot double grenade packs for the Riflemen or Sergeant?

@Peptuck are you still seeing this? I've gone to take a look and seem to be able to equip and use grenades as normal.

The recent update looks it might have broken this unit. Troops can't equip grenades anymore.

Would you ever consider creating your own custom camo for the unit in the future? Maybe like the Chocolate camo, and adding some variation in the uniforms, small things like some guys having rolled and some having full sleeves? And could you add camo helmets to match the uniforms and the ability in the little extra customisation part to be able to equip ski masks?
I think a couple extra weapons could be added like the G3 or FAL but restrict them to irons and a 4x scope for the G3, as these would give the regular guys more stopping power at the cost of no sight or a fixed 4x zoom.
One thing that could be expanded is the units, add a couple more to sappers and snipers as well as make a small medic unit with a unique armband and patch on their helmets, only get 2 though so need to keep them safe.
Overall amazing mod, look forward to the future.

@Oscar E. Lima Hey man, got any more details on the skin issue? Certain classes? Using the camo selector mod and it's a certain camo?

I think a LMG dedicated unit would be cool.
Also I think there is a bug where the skin does not load properly in some cases, it looks like they have snow white camo instead of the tan-greenish uniforms

@transfem weirdo Fixed! Cheers for flagging. Demo charges will not blow a fair few more things up.

@LuckyBuck That seems like a good shout. Been thinking about removing the Sergeants Mk17 full stop and think other than that it's just the M14 that uses 7.62 NATO. Next update I'll remove the ADVAP round at a minimum for sure though.
