This mod adds the melee weapons from Ancient Armory, but updated for B42 and beyond.

Addition:

Adds medieval weapons such as Great Axes, Bardiches, and Longswords.
Adds asian weapons such as the Dao and Naginata.
Adds indigenous weapons like the Tomahawk and a few other weapons.
Adds post 1700s and pre 1900s weapons such as Cutlasses and the like.

Over all, you will see a large number of new rare and unique historic weapons scattered around the map.

Changelog:

Unfortunantly, I've had to remove the broken parts of the old mod, this included all the crossbow and handcannon aspects. I wanted to make my own chainmail armor, and it didn't seem like other mods provided that.

If anyone would like to join me in extending this mod, I'd be glad to chat with you. My current plans for the mod are to add additional historical armors, such as the japanese armors, as well as iconic helmets from across the world to match with the weapons added in the mod. Finding arabic, or italian, or roman, or chinese or indian styles of armor would be quite the treat.

Over all I've tried to keep the balance as it was before with the exception of making a few weapons a bit more durable. Also, I've tried to integrate the weapons into the new tags. For example, Bardiches can be used to chop trees, and daggers can be used to skin animals. A couple weapons, such as the Warhammer have been given IgnoreArmor because it seemed approprite.

I haven't had experience with many of them so far, but the one that stands out to me is the Nagamaki being so slow. It feels like a sledgehammer, but is no different really than a standard katana just with a longer handle so you can put more force behind the swing.

@Lurmey, what weapons seem overtuned to you? I'm not much of a PZ modder, but I can see what can be done.

I love RZ Don's idea provided it's not too difficult or time consuming to do! A bit of stat rebalancing wouldn't go amiss, and the ability to repair/reforge or even forge new weapons would be amazing.

As much as I like it, resharpening to full condition at just the cost of some whetstone durability (which are plentiful and renewable) is a bit overpowered, so having the proper new head/handle/sharpness condition system for these would be great.

There's a lot of potential for the mod if someone is willing to put in the work, all I'm saying!

Maybe you could add a skill book or magazine to be able to craft these, the advanced forge seems definitely able to produce them if you had the knowledge or high black smithing skill.

Dang. Sounds like drama. I've had times where I didn't have time to mod, and I took down my mods, but I always tried to be civil about it. Hope things work out.

@Lurmey. I didn't make the animations for the mod, so I don't know. I think it's just part of how the animations were designed originally.

@Zara. Dang. I liked Rain's blades mods. It's a huge part of why I made this mod.

Rain removed her blades and axes mod, So I am on the hunt for a new melee weapon mod. This is the first I found that seems to be what I'm looking for. Thank you :)

Dang. Yeah I found that they can be repeatedly sharpened with whetstones to never break, but if you don't watch it and it ends up breaking it seems irreparable. That sucks, RIP my Zweihander, you served me well.

Oh also, I was wondering why is the Nagamaki so slow to swing? I found two very early game but they're difficult to use safely because of that very long recovery time, yet the Zweihander (a typically much heavier sword) is lightning fast. I love that the Zweihander is fast - it's more realistic than the slow, clunky, overbearing representation two-handed swords get in media, but it makes the Nagamaki not make a lot of sense.

@Lurmey. They should use the vanilla weapons system, so something completely broken can't be fixed. But something damaged can be fixed with epoxy and the like depending on the weapon.
