Ultimate Difficulty Scaling [use this version only with Companion and Monster AI 2.12]

描述
This version of Ultimate Difficulty Scaling (UDS) mod is only for use with Companion and Monster AI 2.12 mod.

IMPORTANT!

To make things work you need to delete the following files from your Companion and Monster AI folder:

nw_c2_default1.ncs

nw_c2_default2.ncs

Those files are merged with Companion and Monster AI files and already included in UDS, so if you don't delete these files from Companion and Monster AI folder there will be file conflicts and UDS may not work correctly!

If you don't use Companion and Monster AI mod then please look here for the normal version of Ultimate Difficulty Scaling:

BRIEF MOD DESCRIPTON

This mod is based on two great mods for difficulty scaling:

Level Scaling Challenge by Clangeddin
https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn2/script/level-scaling-challenge

Personal Impossibility Adjustment by kevL's
https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn2/script/personal-impossibility-adjustment

This mod merges and improves those two mods and provides highly customizable dynamic difficulty scaling by auto-leveling and enhancing enemy stats and pre-buffing them.

With this mod, you may make enemies scale up to the player's current level, plus or minus a few levels. So, you may configure it so they even scale above the player's level for hardcore enthusiasts.

Plus, you can precisely customize the enhancement of specific enemy stats: attack, damage, armor class, abilities, hitpoints, saves and so on.

Moreover, you can even configure enemies to be pre-buffed with various spells on them depending on their level and class.

Mod is highly customizable, and you may configure or completely switch on and off any and all of its features: level scaling, stats enhancement and prebuffing.

Mod may be configured by editing 2da files - these are just special NWN 2 text files you may open with Notepad or any other text editor.

Without this mod, the original NWN 2 campaign is VERY easy and dull even on the official very difficult rules with 200% damage for enemies. Very easy I mean actually ZERO challenge especially on high levels.

With this mod every battle turns into a real fight, not a slaughter of helpless infants. You need to plan proper builds for the whole party, carefully select spells and abilities, pre-buff before every fight, plan your actions 3, 5, 10 moves ahead.

The result is a completely different experience from the original campaign – it's like playing a different game with real opponents, not a leisurely stroll where all enemies die in one hit...

BEWARE!

Default difficulty settings for this mod are pretty tough and require good party composition, character builds, tactical planning and pre-buffing.

CONFIGURATION

To customize mod settings you need to open the mod folder:

(your Steam path)\steamapps\workshop\content\2738630\3527530349\override\UDS\

There are several folders inside, 2da files and Readme files.

Mod settings are configured by 2da files.

If you want to keep your mod configuration in case of mod workshop updates you have to copy configured 2da files in your local override folder:

(Windows user)\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\override\

You may create a "UDS" folder there for clarity.

PLEASE NOTE: Copy ONLY 2da files you've configured.

DO NOT COPY other mod files or workshop mod updates won't be applied.

COMPATIBILITY

Mod is INCOMPATIBLE with other mods overriding ON HEARTBEAT, ON PERCEIVED and ON SPAWN event handlers: nw_c2_default1.ncs, nw_c2_default2.ncs, nw_c2_default9.ncs.

Manual merge required for those files!

Maybe because I install the PRC?

Crash also happen to me. Usually happened when the level scale(to level 9) is applied to sorcerer and wizard.

Thank you for taking the time to fix the performance issues. This mod really makes the game playable to for me, it's painfully easy otherwise! Looking forward to those performance options.

It seems like those crashes are caused by script engine performance issues in some areas. I'm currently working on this issue in my free time, trying to add several performance options for the mod.

This mod consistently causes crashes for me in certain places in the game and I can't work out why.

So far it's happened in Blacklake (only the upper section with Castle Never and The Academy), one path in Old Owl Well, and Crossroad Keep (the first time) - specifically in the library and the basement.

I've deleted the nw_c2_default1.ncs and nw_c2_default2.ncs from companion and monster AI.

If I disable this mod I can get past those sections but obviously I would really like it on! I haven't got further in the game yet so can't be sure where else this might happen.

I've also tried disabling all other mods apart from this one but it still happens, although I'm only using spell improvements, teleport items and no race level adjustment. I was previously using Clangeddin's Utilites and Charlies Appearance Changer but not anymore.

Could you perhaps please offer some insight? Because otherwise I'm really enjoying the mod and don't want to have to play without it.

Thank you!

Sure, it's possible - just disable PIA via default difficulty.2da: set Active to 0.

Hello! I like your mod and changes, but I only want to use your version of level scaling and companion ai - without the PIA mod - is that possible?
EtOpIST  [作者] 7 月 24 日 下午 7:08
Ok, I see now. No, just using my scripts won't work the way you want. Scripts in merged folder require my own additional UDS scripts.

To make it work the way you want you need to merge original LSC, PIA and CompMonAI default.nss files and compile them to *.ncs files.

I would like to use the UDS scripts you made for CompMonAI together with the
original "Level Scaling Challenge" mod from Clangeddin, the "Personal Impossibility Adjustment" mod from kevL and the CompMonAI mod. I would prefer to use the original versions of the first two mods instead of the ones you edited and merged together. Therefore I would like to know if all I would need to do would be to use your scripts from the UDS merged folder instead of the ones from the "Level Scaling Challenge" mod.

Sorry, still can't quite get what you are asking about? What original difficulty scaling mod do you mean?

Scripts in Merged folder are default NWN 2 event handlers scripts - they are taken from original game files. I've made separate versions of these scripts for pure UDS and for CompMonAI-compatible UDS.
