描述

A nation born from rebellion against its colonisers, Ireland carved for itself a role on the world stage as a voice of reason, liberty, and justice. Advocating humanitarian principles, it leveraged soft power not only to secure its own independence, but to continue to advocate for the voices of the oppressed across the globe.

Turn diplomacy into power, benefiting from friendships, running multiple copies of the same endeavours, and eventually turning your Influence yields directly into Culture and Production.

Train Statesmen: a Great Person who creates a new unique Government. Each of the 10 Irish political figures has their own Government type representing their ideals and activities.

Strengthen alliances with Ambassadors, yielding influence (and positive relations) from your trade routes.

Create interconnected, industrious, and cultured city centres with Tramways.

FEATURES
  • New Civilization: Adds a new Civilization representing Ireland, themed on Ireland's impressive diplomatic and humanitarian achievements during and since its quest for independence.
  • Unique Civic Tree: A unique Civic Tree that traces Ireland's path from independence towards its constitution.
  • Unique Great People and Governments: 10 Great People and 10 Unique Governments based on Irish political figures.
    • William Butler Yeats: Republic of Letters (Influence and Happiness or Influence and Culture)
    • William Smith O'Brien: Revolutionary Federation (Armies or Combat Strength)
    • Robert Emmett: Cordial Union (Armies or Culture)
    • Michael Collins: Free State (Influence or Combat Strength)
    • Kathleen Clarke: Social Democracy (Production and Food or Science and Culture)
    • James Gralton: Workers Federation (Production or Food)
    • James Connolly: Co-Operative State (All Yields or Production)
    • Éamon de Valera: Semi-Presidentialism (Culture or Happiness)
    • Daniel O'Connell: Parliamentarism (Production or Science)
    • Constance Markievicz: State Feminism (Production and Science or Influence and Culture)
  • Unique Quarter: Construct Tramways and Embassies across Ireland to boost culture and production, whilst also gaining access to additional uses of your Endeavours.
  • A Second Unique Civilian Unit: Gain influence from establishing trade routes with the Ambassador, a replacement for the Merchant.
UNIQUE CIVICS TREE AND TRADITIONS
  • Anglo-Irish Treaty
    • Tramway and Freedom to Achieve Freedom
  • Beyond the Pale
    • Foreign Expeditions, Capital gains +2 Happiness for each Town and +2 Influence for each City
  • Plebiscite on the Constitution
    • Embassy and Taoiseach.
    • Oireachtas and +1 Settlement Cap.

FEEDBACK AREAS
  • Balance: Main hazard is just how much value you can get from spamming Endeavours. Eventually the main limit is the number of non-hostile players, and keeping AI players happy is infamously challenging (especially once ideologies get involved!). At the moment, I like this balance as it encourages the player to focus a lot on keeping friendly with others, which fits the intended playstyle of the civ.
Any other issues you encounter please let me know asap and I can try to resolve it in a future update!

firaxis still hasnt let us add custom models to mods, but my mods use a remap system designed by izica.
ireland's unique quarter uses the american railyard and spanish casa de contratación.
this minimises immersion-breaking, as buildings with identical models in different civs already exist for all the non-unique buildings, and theres a fair chance america and/or spain aren't in the same game as ireland anyway.
the alternative at the moment is to have empty plots for unique buildings, until firaxis lets us add custom models.

great work, excuse me does the mod has unique models? if not are you planning on addin them? does anyone know? i dont wanna loose immersion if i see twice the same building in different civs

in the .modinfo file you can name 'references' and create action groups that are only loaded if those 'references' are enabled. anything referencing dlc content like ada lovelace or britain are put into action groups referencing those dlcs, so games without dlc ignore them, and games with the dlc use them. it's fiddly, though, and hard to test.

Hey Matt! Idk whether it's more appropriate to reach out here or through Discord, but I wanted to ask how you got around the issue of not everyone having dlc, but you need to mention dlc content in the mod?

This mod is preventing Modern Age from starting. I keep getting "Gameplay database failed validation! See Database.log for details."

this is such an awesome mod, thank you!

had a weird issue where i couldn't earn any legacy points, and neither could the AI it seems, but only in the modern age. i would collect artifacts and it would never recognize me achieving any of the milestones.

hard to tell if it's because of this mod, but the legacy points worked normally in antiquity and exploration where i was playing base game civs, and they bugged out when i was playing ireland in modern.

thanks! this is what i needed. it's a dlc issue: these are hard for me to figure out because the fact i own the dlcs means the game sometimes manages to work even when i disable them. i'll release an update fixing this asap and comment again here when it's ready!

@mattwho I looked at the data log and besides Foreign Key constraint failed x2, it talks about Ada Lovelace does not exist in leaders
