描述
This mod is the successor to ModularWeapons, that compatible with Rimworld version 1.6!
(Also for 1.5)

What mod is this for?

This mod allows some weapons to be customized at the Gunsmith Workbench.
Customizing your weapons will change their appearance and performance.
Also some new weapons added.

Added Weapons

  • Modular assault carbine
    This weapon is based on Assault rifle. You can replace its stock, barrel, and magazine.
  • Modular hunting rifle
    This weapon is based on Bolt-action rifle. It can be resemble into any kind of sniper rifle.
  • Modular battle rifle
    It's based on the understanding that vanilla heavy SMG is HK33K, so this modular weapon can be modified into like G3 or MP5.
Vanilla weapons can be customized

These weapons cannot have their main parts replaced, but it is possible to add sights, muzzles, etc.
  • Assault rifle
  • Bolt-action rifle
  • Autopistol
  • Revolver
  • Machine pistol
  • Heavy SMG
  • LMG
  • Pump shotgun
  • Chain shotgun
  • Charge rifle

Please note
* Testing is still not perfect. Keep back-uping your save data.
* Completely incompatible with Previous ModularWeapons. When using this, please create new save.

The following bugs have been reported many times, but I'm unable to fix them because we have not found a way to reproduce them. I'm look forward to your report.

NOT YET.
If you playing in 1.5 with CE, please use Previous ModularWeapons.
I need to see what the CE devs do with the unique weapon system. Making compatible is after that.

Is this safe for existing save?
After update on 2025/07/03, it will not cause errors on that spot. But it is still not recommended.

@NoOne_ReaVen I'm currently making my own addon/overhaul using this mod as a base/requirement, though I have yet to release it as I am doing final tweaks and balancing. I've done exactly what you're asking and in my opinion it is not very hard once you get used to the existing code and see how the mod author did their attachments. It's a lot of code, but partially due to how I implemented my own systems. Even then, once I established the base attachment, it was a lot of just copy pasting and changing Def names.
The way I implemented it, there are weapons that can shoot multiple calibers, so for example you can have a bolt action rifle shoot small, medium, or large caliber rounds.
I also created unique bullet types like AP rounds, HP rounds, etc. I even have it set where caliber does not affect accuracy UNLESS you're firing the weapon in a burst, then higher calibers greatly affect the accuracy.
The Toolkit addon the author released is also a good tool when you get used to it.

Would it be possible to add a modifier for the Ammonition type, implemented like how the Muzzle addons are a child node of the barrel, from what I understand, or would that lead to a coding mess, in general how difficult is it to create new addons, like an atillery stock for a pistol/revolver (think the Luger had one of those for Cavalerymen), in general im just into makeing cursed and barlly usable firearms, not cod cosmetics bad just generally for the memes

Awesome mod! I really like how you don't have to build all the components first as in similar mods. My only feedback so far is that the bayonet (knife) attachment should do damage and piercing similar to a spear, not a knife.

Version CE 1.6 is already out. I'm waiting for compatibility. Take your time, work at your own pace.

would be cool to have this combined with some sort of borderlands like mod where different parts have different qualities and they belong to specific manufacturers

Nuff's auto patcher doesn't care and your stat adjustments work accordingly, it's like 90% compatible out of the box in that case, good work!
