Introduction
I loved this game, and after unlocking every achievement, I decided to write this guide. It’s not perfect, but I hope it helps.

I’ll share my progression through the game, covering game modes, combat, minigames, story, achievements, and tips.

Warning: spoilers ahead for minigames, game modes, and story.

Since I originally rushed through the game to earn all the achievements, the guide may be missing some details, but I’ll recommend other guides you can use.

I’m now replaying the game at a more leisurely pace and will update this guide as I learn new things. I’ll also try to improve the guide’s format to make it easier to understand.

If you have any questions, you can leave a comment below and I’ll try to help. Or you can ask for help on the Discord[discord.com] of the game.

Just to show off:

Basic Controls
I play on PC with keyboard and mouse. Controls may seem obvious, but I had some difficulties, so I decided to write this topic.

Using the keyboard:
To make it easier to understand, I’ve separated the controls into three categories (as shown in the game):
  • GREEN: ACTION or CONFIRMATION keys.
  • RED: CANCEL keys.
  • BLUE: MOVEMENT or NAVIGATION keys.

GREEN keys: SPACE, E, Z, and ENTER.
They perform actions. For example, confirming a menu choice, using a skill in battle, or buying an upgrade.
They’re also used to activate power-ups in minigames.

RED keys: ESC, Q, X, and BACKWARDS.
They cancel action. For example, closing a menu or menu tab.
When no menu is open, pressing any of these keys opens it.
They also pause the game during minigames and can skip dialogue.

BLUE keys: WASD or the arrow keys.
They control the character (Nyx) and navigate menus.
They’re also used to control the character in the minigames.

Flying:
After you unlock her broom, click any ACTION key to start or stop flying.
Flying ignores obstacles and is faster than walking.
To stop flying, you must land on a green tile (or yellow, I’m not great with colors).
You’ll find her broom on the other side of the lake, as shown in the image (red dot).

Quick-Menu:
After upgrading the Cauldron, you unlock the Quick-Menu.
To use it, hold any ACTION key, then use a MOVEMENT key while holding it to select an option.
The menu has four options:
  • UP: Zoom IN
  • DOWN: Zoom OUT
  • LEFT: Teleport Nyx to the Cauldron
  • RIGHT: Open the Map
These commands are also available in the Misc tab of the menu, except for the teleport command that I couldn’t find it anywhere else.

Minigames:
Use any CANCEL key to pause a minigame.
You can also exit at any time and the current score will be saved.

Apple Minigame:
In the apple minigame, use the MOVEMENT keys to move left and right.
After buying the Broom upgrade, you can also fly up and down.
This minigame contains three power-ups:
  • DASH: Click any ACTION key.
  • BOMBS: Click any ACTION key + UP.
  • LASER: Click any ACTION key + DOWN.
To use the BOMBS and LASER power-ups, you can’t be moving sideways when activating them.

Ice Minigame:
In the ice minigame, use the MOVEMENT keys to choose an item or character, then press an ACTION key to select it.
After selecting, use the MOVEMENT keys to aim, the ACTION keys to shoot, or the CANCEL keys to go back.
When controlling Nyx, you can use the following commands:
  • MOVE: Use the MOVEMENT keys.
  • JUMP: Press any ACTION key.
  • FLY: Hold any ACTION key. (Only after buying the Jetpack upgrade)
  • TELEPORT UP: Press UP to preview the teleport, then press UP again to confirm. (Only after buying the Teleport upgrade)
  • MAGNET: Press DOWN to preview the magnet area, then press DOWN again to confirm. (Only after buying the Magnet upgrade)

Using the mouse:
You can navigate menus using left-click.
Use right-click to cancel an action, open the menu, and skip dialogues.
Hold left-click to bring up a joystick and control the character (Nyx) movements.
Scroll up or down to zoom in and out.

Flying:
After unlocking her broom, left-click on Nyx to start or stop flying.

Quick-Menu:
After unlocking the Quick-Menu, hold the right button and then click the left button to bring up the joystick. Drag the mouse in a direction to select an action:
  • UP (zoom in)
  • DOWN (zoom out)
  • LEFT (teleport to the Cauldron)
  • RIGHT (open map)

Minigames:
Left-click to pause minigames.

Apple Minigame:
Nyx follows the mouse, or hold left-click and use the joystick to control her.
The apple minigame has three power-ups:
  • DASH: Right-click.
  • BOMBS: Scroll up.
  • LASER: Scroll down.

Ice Minigame:
Left-click an item or character to use it. Move the mouse to aim. Left-click to shoot. Right-click to cancel.
When controlling Nyx, you can use the following commands:
  • MOVE: She moves toward the mouse pointer.
  • JUMP: Left-click.
  • FLY: Hold left-click. (Only after buying the Jetpack upgrade)
  • TELEPORT UP: Scroll up. (Only after buying the Teleport upgrade)
  • MAGNET: Scroll down. (Only after buying the Magnet upgrade)
Game Modes
The game has six game modes: Standard, Tougher Enemies, Pacifist, Idle, Double Trouble, and Evil.

You can have up to 10 games, same or different modes, on a single profile. When selecting a game on the profile, you also have the option to erase the save.

Each completed mode grants a bonus to auto-collect speed. Clearing darkness in any game also grants an auto-collect bonus.

Each mode has its own ending. Completing any mode unlocks the AutoPlay option for minigames.

After completing two different modes, you unlock The True Ending. I suggest you play all the minigames before attempting the True Ending, since each mode you complete gives 10 extra talent points and foreshadows the True Ending.

I played the modes in this order: Standard, Pacifist, Idle, Tougher Enemies, Double Trouble, and Evil.

Standard
You start in Standard mode. It’s the default mode and I suggest completing this game mode before going to others, as in this mode you can learn the game mechanics: minigames, battles, items, bribing, heroes, map, and others.

Heroes always appear in the same spots.

After unlocking items, you can equip one item per hero.

Once you’ve upgraded each Cauldron resource twice (apples, fish, rocks), you’ll unlock Tougher Enemies, Pacifist, and Idle.

Cauldron upgrade costs here start at 2 and multiply by 8: 2, 16, 128, 1024…

Tougher Enemies
If you like combat, I suggest you to play Tougher Enemies first, otherwise, you can play this mode later with an auto-collect speed bonus after completing other game modes.

Enemies have double HP and action speed.

Heroes spawn randomly. You can still equip one item per hero.

Bribing is disabled.

Cauldron upgrades are cheaper, they start at 1 and multiply by 7: 1, 7, 49, 343…

Pacifist
In Pacifist mode, battle is option is unavailable, you can only bribe enemies. And auto-collect is 10x faster.

I think this one is the easiest mode: get a high minigame score, wait for auto-collect, buy upgrades, then replay for higher scores and bribe everyone to save the world.

Idle
In Idle mode, AutoBattle and AutoPlay are always on.

As the name of this game mode says, in this mode you are idle. You watch the DUMB super-smart AI play minigames, then choose to battle or bribe everyone. I let the minigames idle for a while, then bribed everyone later.

Double Trouble
Unlocks after breaking the barrier in any previous mode.

Enemy waves and effect durations are doubled and enemies carry one random item.

The items are available at the start, and each hero can equip two.

Heroes spawn randomly. Bribing is disabled.

Basically combat, but harder, see the Combat section for tips.

Evil
Unlocks after breaking the barrier in Double Trouble.

Enemy waves and effect durations are doubled, enemies have more HP, speed, and carry four random items.

The items are available at the start, and each hero can equip four.

Heroes spawn randomly and bribing is disabled. You start with three random heroes (and Nyx).

Cauldron upgrades are cheaper, they start at 1 and multiply by 6: 1, 6, 36, 216…

This is essentially Double Trouble but even harder, see the Combat section for tips.
Spirit Points
Spirit Points can be used in the Spirit menu. They are used to upgrade bonuses like increased damage, armor, health, poison damage, and more.

You can earn Spirit Points in the following ways:

Mage Town:
In this village, you're asked to find hidden villagers disguised as objects on the map.
A character in the village shows speech bubbles with images of the objects the villagers are disguised as.
You can earn up to 15 Spirit Points by finding all the hidden villagers.

If you don’t want to search manually, you can use Sedin’s guide:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3487859337

THIS IS A CRYSTAL?! A MINERAL?! I WAS SO SURE IT WAS ICE! OR SOMETHING RELATED TO IT. THIS WAS THE LAST ONE I NEEDED, AND I KEPT SEARCHING IN THE SNOW BIOME! I ACTUALLY HAD TO LOOK AT A GUIDE TO FIND IT’S NOT ICE AT ALL! ;-;

Dig Town:
Here, you help dig up villagers by completing puzzles.
If you're stuck, you can pause during the puzzle to get a hint.
You can earn up to 15 Spirit Points by solving these puzzles.

Need help? Use Sedin’s guide for the solutions:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3487819548

Battle Town:
This village gives you a list of battles to complete.
Win battles to earn up to 15 Spirit Points.

Snow Town:
This village asks you to fish out all the villagers.
Each hole on the ice lake hides 3 villagers.
You can try to catch all three in one go.
Using the ACTION button allows you to move up or down.
Each failed attempt gives the fishing rod more "health" to make it easier next time.
Earn up to 15 Spirit Points by fishing all the villagers.

Swamp Digging Puzzles:
There are 12 swamp digging puzzles.
Don’t want to think? Use Sedin’s guide:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3487400774

Snow Digging Puzzles:
There are 12 snow (ice) digging puzzles.
Too lazy to solve them? Use Sedin’s guide:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3487357541

Fishing (Unlimited Spirit Points):
Above Snow Town, you can unlock a fishing minigame.
There you can earn unlimited Spirit Points, if you enjoy fishing.
Although Spirit Points can be farmed infinitely, the number of upgrades you can buy is limited.
However, to fully max out everything, you’ll likely need thousands of Spirit Points, so keep fishing!

Fighting Pit:
At the top of the map, near the final boss, there’s a Fighting Pit.
Winning a match gives you 2 Spirit Points.
There are 50 battles available.

Transfer Spirit Points Between Gamemodes (Same Profile):
While playing in another gamemode in the same profile, a green ghost named Fump will appear.
Talk to him to import Spirit Point progress from other gamemodes.
Note: Spirit Points earned in the Fighting Pit can only be used in the game you earned them in. They can’t be transferred to others.
Combat and Items
I didn’t focus much on combat during my playthrough, so I may update this guide with more combat advice as I continue playing.

Here are a few tips:

It’s usually a good idea to include Hearth in your party, since her revive skill is extremely useful.

If you use Autobattle and have Thor in your party, remember to select the character you want him to copy in the Autobattle tab under “Copy.” Also, deactivate his special ability in the "Actions" menu if you don’t want your entire party to turn into a single character.

When using Thor, I recommend pairing him with Hearth, Morgana, or Buffy.

For Humongous Resistant Slime, use Chop or Huntress (equipped with a Bleed ring) to deal damage. If you’re not hitting hard enough, add Buffy, Debuffet, and Ticktock to boost your damage output.

I also recommend Brian’s combat guide. I used the character and item combinations from his guide to complete the Double Trouble and Evil game modes:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3488196780
I am also creating a new guide, listing all the enemies in the game:

Minigames
There are five minigames: Apple, Fishing, Rocks, Crystal, and Ice.

If you're unsure about the controls in any minigame, check the controls section. I used a combination of keyboard and mouse controls for Apple and Ice minigames.

You can unlock AutoPlay for any minigame after completing one game mode. AutoPlay lets the AI play the game for you. In Idle mode, AutoPlay is locked ON by default.

For the Decillion achievement, I recommend using Pacifist mode, as the 10x auto-collect bonus makes it much easier to buy upgrades in the minigames.
I also suggest going for this achievement after you've completed all or most of the game modes, as each completed game mode unlocks an exclusive upgrade that can be very helpful.

Apple:
In this minigame, I used the keyboard to move and dash, and the mouse scroll wheel to activate power-ups. After scrolling to select a power-up, you must either stop moving for a moment or change directions for the power-up to activate.

Early Game:
Focus on collecting good apples and avoiding the bad ones.
Buy any upgrades that become available.
Once you unlock the Blinkie helper, you can safely ignore him and his upgrades, unless you enjoy being frustrated by his intelligence.
After purchasing one of each available upgrade (after Blinkie upgrade), you'll unlock the Fireball upgrade.

Mid Game:
Once you get the Fireball upgrade, several new upgrades become available.
Buying the Bad Apple upgrades slightly changes how the game works.

Now, focus on destroying bad apples (to increase game time), and try to explode them near red apples to turn them into golden apples.
You should also start upgrading Blinkie’s basket size.

After surviving for a while, slimes will begin to appear. Defeating them gives you some apples.
Once you get enough upgrades, you'll unlock Slash (when using Dash) and turrets.
Try to destroy bad apples using Slash to spawn turrets that help defeat slimes.

Eventually, bosses will appear. You'll also unlock the Boss Bonus upgrade, which gives you bonus apples based on your current score when you kill a boss.

At this point, the gameplay shifts from getting apples to destroying bad apples, and trying to stay alive while fighting slimes.

End Game (Decillion Achievement):
By now, you should have most of the upgrades and have completed at least 4 game modes, which unlocks the Target Multiplier upgrade.

Keep only the Earth (for defense) and Shock (for damage, with the Shock Bounce upgrade) turrets active. If you feel you have enough damage, you can try turning off Shock turrets, only to regret it after seeing the overwhelming number of slimes and bullets, and discovering that even with high damage, it becomes hard to move and kill everything, so you'll turn them back on.

Focus on destroying targets to raise your multiplier.

Once you unlock the Dash Dodge upgrade, you can use Dash to dodge bullets when too many are coming your way.

Try to keep bosses alive as long as possible, as when they die, they grant a bonus based on your current apple count (after unlocking the Boss Bonus Infinite upgrade).

If you want to keep the bosses alive for later, consider refunding or avoiding the Laser Width infinite upgrade. At one point, my laser was covering more than half the screen!

I completed the Decillion achievement for this minigame with AutoPlay ON.

Fishing:
Early Game:
At the beginning, you'll start by catching blue fish and avoiding red fish.

Upgrades mostly help you get more blue fish, fewer red fish, and increase hook weight.

You can also unlock the Sink/Float power upgrade. Use the UP and DOWN keys to better aim for or avoid certain fish.

Mid Game:
After unlocking the Go Deeper upgrade, you can reach deeper levels to catch more valuable fish (what a surprise).

You might want to skip nearby fish and go all the way down to catch the most valuable ones.

New upgrades become available: golden fish, a shield to block red fish, additional powerups, and more hook weight upgrades.

After unlocking golden fish, you'll get access to Mines, they explode and catch all fish in their blast radius.
You'll also unlock an upgrade that makes golden and blue fish not count toward hook weight, and another that gives bonus multipliers when catching golden fish. These multipliers increase the value of your next fish you get.

At this stage, your strategy should be:

Go as deep as possible.

Catch golden fish (for multipliers) and blue fish.

Avoid red fish.

Use powerups to help catch or avoid specific fish.

You can also trigger mines while going down or up, fish caught in the explosion add to your score.

Once you're deep enough or have a high multiplier, aim to catch a high-value fish for a big score boost.

Eventually, the screen gets darker. You’ll unlock an upgrade to help you see in these dark areas (Sight Upgrade, after the PowerUps upgrade).

In the deeper zones, new red fish appear, one follows your hook, and a lobster rises to block your path. Try to avoid them.

When going back up, try to catch any fish you can while dodging red fish.

Late Game (Decillion Achievement):
By now, you should have most upgrades and have completed at least 2 game modes to unlock the Henry upgrade. Completing 5 game modes unlocks the Golden Magnet upgrade (I believe it's a necessary upgrade for the decillion).

You should also have upgraded the Golden Hook, Anti-Red Fish, and Magnet powerups.

Once the Golden Hook is upgraded enough, it activates at the start of a run and lasts long enough for you to reach the bottom without worrying about hook weight.

The goal here is to get and use Anti-Red Fish and Magnet powerups to descend quickly while catching lots of fish.

At the bottom, you’ll find Henry. Catching him spawns a bunch of octopuses, each one you catch on the way up adds 5% of your current score.

I completed the Decillion achievement for this minigame with AutoPlay ON.

Edit: I also managed to catch a Decillion while replaying the game just to write this guide. I don't even like fishing >_<

Rocks:
Play with “Bonus Dig” off or don’t buy the “Dig Radius” upgrade. It’s easier to control exactly what you dig.

Focus on detonating bombs with the chess pieces (SSP). You can destroy bombs you’ve placed as well as bombs already on the map.

Use the keyboard to control the three bonus balls at the end. Then grind for upgrades and luck.

Crystal (Minicart):
Go to level 7 and face Baddie 99.

Unlock every character.

Keep moving up and down until an enemy dies.

Maximize all characters.

Stay near the ladder until the last 10 seconds, then enter it.

WARNING: This lags a lot. I recommend lowering graphic effects.

For a character to appear, you must’ve unlocked it first.

Here’s a guide to each character’s abilities in this minigame:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3488208395

Ice:
In Ice, I aimed with the mouse, it’s much simpler than using the keys.

Reach level 25.

Use Whirls to destroy a large area and collect Upgrade Shots.

Make a small hole in the remaining blocks with Fireballs.

Use your Upgrade Shots on those exposed blocks for high multipliers.

Destroy everything and collect the fallen blocks.

I saw on Discord that many players broke the game by getting insanely high scores on this one. xD

Other Guides:
Here are some other guides that also explain and provide tips for the minigames:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3487721814

Story

Although simple, I liked the story and plot.

The skits add more personality to each character.

Each game mode has its own ending.

Mortimer and the Twins have different dialogue if you bribe or fight them.

There’s some foreshadowing at the end of certain game modes about the true ending.

And the true ending even has a plot twist.

Also, where did Mortimer and the Twins go? They escaped before the final fight. ;-;

I don’t know why I wanted to write about the story, but when I started, I realized there wasn’t much to say. Still, I simply liked it.
FAQ Questions
Not really frequently asked, but I didn't have a better idea for the title.

What are the levers found in the game for?

They need to be activated to unlock the final boss, Jake. Otherwise, his castle will have lasers blocking the gate, preventing you from entering.

How to change the game mode?

You can access your game profile from the main menu. A profile supports up to 10 games.

On your profile, you can select any game to continue or delete it.

You can also choose an empty slot to create a new game and select the game mode.

If you are in a game, you can save and quit to return to the main menu.

You only get the other 3 party members after beating other game modes
Cindybean004 6 月 28 日 下午 2:04
I've scoured everything available and can't for the life of me figure out how to recruit the final 3 party members in Standard. I've cleared the whole map, beat all of the minigames/challenges, and I just have Jake left. Did I miss an opportunity to get stronger characters like Morgana? What did I miss?

This is extensive info, so ty <3

Do you know how the Buff to auto-collect speed from profile spirit points is caculated?

I farmed some spirit points from the Arena/Infinite Fishing, however the value didn't change at all. Nor did it when getting Spirit on other saves/modes. Is it possibly hard capped at 1.96, or is something else going on?

Hey thanks for the guide. Can you tell me what the yellow lever is for on the southside of the map? I scowered the entire map and cant figure out what it's for. Thanks

Great guide, thanks for all the tips. Quick silly question: how do you change game modes exactly? I feel like I missed something extremely obvious, but I can't find the information anywhere...
EpicSexGay 6 月 5 日 上午 11:41
Because some of the minigames are kinda torture to play over and over again manually, it might be advisable to start with the idle gamemode.

This means that after you beat the idle gamemode, you'll get it permanently in the rest of the gamemodes
