This mod reduces the procedurally generated surface detail on planets, thus making them more rover friendly.

It is similar to "Smooth Voxels", which removes the surface detail entirely. For me that mod made planets too smooth, so I wanted to create a mod that is not so smooth.

All planets will be modified, even modded ones. This mod is a script. Therefore it is fully compatible with other planet mods.

The following changes are made to the surface detail:
  • Detail now starts at slopes of 35°. Most vanilla planets start the detail at 30°.
  • Strength of surface detail reduced by 25%
  • Transition value recalculated with the formula: (max slope - min slope)/3. On EarthLike for example the transition value is 10, with min slope 30° and max slope 80°. Here the new calculated transition value is 15 (min slope 35°). Higher transition values reduce the strength of the surface detail.

This should be save to add to an existing save.
Removing this mod from a save might cause explosions though.

This mod is just a script that goes through all loaded planets and changes the planet detail variable. It should work with the AQD Deeper Ores mod.
From what I remember that AQD mod is also a script but only changes the depth values of the ore definitions of planets.

does this work with AQD deeper ores? Tried your OR 1.1 mod but it doesnt affect modded planets like AQD Deeper ores does

I was was thinking about putting them into a config, but I don't know how to do it in SE and how it would get synced on a server.
