[DISCONTINUED] Shroudwalkers (Species) by ☸Alan Kraskow☸

描述
⚠️WARNING⚠️
This mod has been discontinued and will no longer receive updates.
A completely reworked version is currently in development and will be released as a part of new Species Collection.
This one will remain on Steam for anyone who wishes to use it as they please. :)

DISCLAIMER!!!
This is mod was inspired by Ulriquinho from Stellaris Modding Den discord, who posted it in #mod-orphanage as outdated mod. It wasn’t my idea and it was made first by someone else, however the mod required a complete rework, so I decided to expand color variations and post it as mine.

Link to the original content:
Shroudwalker Species

FUTURE PLANS:
Currently there are no plans to expand this mod.

COMPATIBILITY:
Uses scripted_variable for inline_script:
@ak_shroudwalkers_species_is_active = 1
Sets global flag:
flag_ak_shroudwalkers

LIST OF MY MODS:

Some of my mods will remain private for various reasons and won’t be publicly listed. However, if your profile is set to public, feel free to send me a friend request — I’ll gladly grant you access.

@javelin55 - While extracting files for the new collection I'm working on, I found the issue you pointed out. It should be fixed now and possible to spawn them as NPC empires.
Not sure, byt they might also count as the Enigma species now.

Anyways, I pushed an update.

@javelin55 Well, the reason they have separate species class is that the vanilla one is blocked from players to use and I didn't wanted to override that one. So I made them a separate species class, which shouldn't be an issue, because my Xenomorph mod has it's own species class and it works all dandy.

I think it might be blocked somewhere else in vanilla files, which aren't override in my mod. Similar to the sound I mentioned about Unbidden.

@alankraskow I had a look of my own to try to see what could be causing this issue, all I can think of is that it might be something to do with them having their own species class, but I've got no clue why that could be the case. Maybe try moving them into a vanilla species class to see if that fixes it? Of course it wouldn't be a permanent fix but it could help identify the issue. I tried that myself but I'm not familiar with Stellaris modding so I couldn't get it to work.

@javelin55 - Yeah I noticed that yesterday when trying to locate the issue. Unfortunately I wasn't able to figure out why is that. I don't see anything in the code that could block them from spawning as AI empires. I had to make a new species class for these portraits, because base ones aren't playable. So it should work completely independently even for AI empires. The only thing that comes to my mind is that it might be related to portrait assets file, as that's where the noise for the unbidden portraits is assigned for example. But I don't override that file.

@alankraskow I will make an Empire using one of these portraits, set it to always spawn, and then when it takes me to the galaxy generation screen, they just don't show up. I've tried switching to a different portrait and that fixes it for some reason.

@javelin55 I would need more context. This is not intended by me for sure, so probably some bug. But how you know they can't be used by AI?
javelin55 10 月 12 日 下午 6:36
I've noticed that Empires made with these portraits can't be used by the AI, why is that?

Added overwrite to enclave species as well, so that they can use new colour variations for their leaders. I haven't tested it properly, and in my current game only teal spawned so far, so I'm not sure if it works fully the way I intended. Please let me know if other colours spawn for you. I might have to dig deeper to force them to use variations, but not sure what else I could change. In worst case scenario I will remove these variations and go back to original red.
