The M109 is a self-propelled howitzer used by many countries for artillery support. First introduced by the U.S. Army in the early 1960s, it features a fully enclosed turret mounted on a tracked chassis, providing mobility and protection. The most common variant today is the M109A7, which includes improved armor, a 155mm cannon, and modern digital fire control systems. It is designed for rapid deployment, high rates of fire, and supporting ground troops with indirect fire.
